Creating a Blueprint

Scenario

U+ Bank is expanding its retail financial services business to include personal investing. U+ Bank has decided to utilize Pega GenAI™ Blueprint functionality to speed up the creation of a Know Your Customer (KYC) application. By using Blueprint, you will generate the necessary Case Type, Case Life Cycle, Data model,  Data Objects, and Personas to support the Know Your Customer (KYC) application.

Use the following credentials to log in to the exercise system:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Create a new application Blueprint for U+Bank's new retail investment banking initiative

Create a Know Your Customer (KYC) application Blueprint using the Pega GenAI Blueprint functionality.

Task 2: Review the Case Types, data objects, and Personas generated by Blueprint

Review the Case Types, Data model,  Data Objects, and Personas generated by the Blueprint for the Know Your Customer (KYC) application.

Task 3: Review the summary of the application overview and export the Blueprint file

Review the summary of the application overview and download the application Blueprint.

Note: Pega Gen AI Blueprint™ is a Saas application, and the user interface and functionality is frequently updated. The walkthrough video and the instructions in this challenge may not match the current version of the Blueprint UI.

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Initialization may take up to 5 minutes so please be patient.

Challenge Walkthrough

Detailed Tasks

1 Create a new application Blueprint for U+ Banks onboarding initiative

  1. Log in as an Application Developer.
    1. In the Username field, enter author@uplusbank.
    2. In the Password field, enter pega123!.
  2. From the header of Dev Studio, click Switch studio >  App Studio.

  3. In App Studio, click Application > New application.
  4. In What type of Application do you want to build? dialog box, click Create a Blueprint.

  5. On the Pega GenAI Blueprint web page, click Build a Blueprint.

  6. On the My Blueprint Dashboard web page, click Create a Blueprint.

  7. In the Let's start your Blueprint page, complete the details:
    1. In the Which industry is your application for? list, select Banking and click Next.

    2. In the Select a sub-industry list, select Retail Banking. From the Department/function drop-down list, select Onboarding. Then click Next.

    3. In the Application purpose list, select Know Your Customer (KYC).
      Note: The items in the Application purpose list use pre-built application templates and Case Types. Pega identifies the pre-built templates.
    4. Review the pre-filled content displayed in the Functional description field.
    5. In the Organization name field, enter U+ Bank. Click Next.

2 Review the Case Types, data objects, and Personas generated by Blueprint

  1. In the What Case Types do you want to automate? section, review the Case Types proposed by the Blueprint for the Know Your Customer (KYC) application.

  2. Click Next to review the Case Life Cycles of the generated Case Types.

  3. Located toward the bottom of the screen, click the Preview my app button to review Blueprint's proposed user interface. Click through the various options for your Center-out experience. When you have finished, click Close.

  4. Use the Select a Case Type dropdown to review the remained for the proposed Case Types.

  5. Click the Edit Lifecycle button to manually edit the Stages and Steps of the Case Life Cycle.

  6. When you have finished reviewing all of the proposed Case Types, click Next.
  7. In the Let's define the Data Model for each Case Type section, review the proposed Data models for each of Blueprint's proposed Case Types. Once you have finished, click Next.

  8. In the What Live Data will be used across your Case Lifecycles? section, review the Data Objects generated by Blueprint for the Know Your Customer (KYC) application. Data Objects can be added, edited, and deleted. When you have finished, click Next.

  9. In the Who are the Personas involved in your Case Lifecycles? section, review the Personas generated by Blueprint for the Know Your Customer (KYC) application. Personas can be added, edited, and deleted. When you have finished, click Next.

3 Review the summary of the application overview and export the Blueprint file

  1. In the Summary page, review the summary of the Know Your Customer (KYC) application.
  2. Confirm that the Case Types, Case Lifecycles, Data Model, Live Data, and Personas matched what Blueprint proposed and you edited for this application. The Case Types, Case Lifecycles, Data Models, Data Objects, and Personas can all be edited from the Summary page.

  3. To save a PDF of the Know Your Customer (KYC) application to your local machine, click Download PDF.
  4. To download a Blueprint file for the Know Your Customer (KYC) application that can be uploaded into a Pega Platform™ instance, click Download Blueprint.
  5. To see the revision history of the Know Your Customer (KYC) application, click History.
