10 Learning Objectives
Pega Platform '24.2
Visible to: All users

Pega Platform™ applications use conditional logic to model complex workflows. In this module, you engage in a conversation about the design of complex Case life cycles, including automated decisioning in Process Flows, skipping specific Stages and Processes, incorporating Optional actions, developing hierarchical Case relationships, and accommodating multi-level decision making.

Estimated module duration: 1.5 hours

Engage at your own pace, with Socrates guiding your understanding of the material. For an optimal experience, complete the module in one session.

Using Socrates:
  • Learning Objectives: Accessible in the pane on the left side of the conversation area.
  • Preferences: Customize Language, Conversation style, and Industry, and enable Socrates Audio (text-to-speech).
  • Conversation: Create new line in your chat with Socrates by pressing Shift+Enter. Press Enter to submit your complete response.
Experienced learners:
  • Starts with a scenario-based assessment.
  • Responses are evaluated to identify knowledge gaps.
  • Socrates provides targeted information to address these gaps.
New learners:
  • Begins with foundational content before the assessment.
  • Assessment results guide Socrates in filling knowledge gaps.

After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Model complex business processes using Process Flows.
  • Configure When condition Rules to enable conditional behavior in Pega applications.
  • Incorporate Decision shapes and business logic to automate the path of a Process.
  • Incorporate conditional logic to model complex Case Life Cycles.
  • Empower users to provide additional support in resolving Cases by providing Optional actions and Processes.
  • Facilitate faster Case resolution by incorporating optional Actions in data objects.
  • Incorporate complex decision logic using Decision tables and Decision trees.
  • Accommodate hierarchical workflows by initiating parent and child Case relationships.
  • Incorporate a Wait Step to pause Case processing.
  • Preserve company resources by automating the detection of duplicate Cases.
