User management is fundamental to the successful implementation of a Pega Platform™ application.

As a Pega Business Architect, in order to implement the organization's operational and security policies, you need to understand how Pega’s role-based access control features are used to manage user access to the data and system functionality defined in the application.

In this module, you learn more about how the relationships between users, Personas, and Operators determine access to work assignments, and how developers control access to Pega applications by using authentication and authorization.

After completing this module, you should be able to:

Differentiate between a user and a Persona in a Pega application.
Explain the relationship between Personas, operator record, Access Groups, and Access Roles.
Differentiate between authorization and authentication in relation to application security.

Practice what you learned in the following Challenge:

Creating Personas and Channels for BAs v1

Available in the following mission:

Business Architect v6
