Pega Platform™ applications can manage and validate the data selected or entered during Case processing to ensure that the workflow results in the correct strategic business outcome. In this module, you engage in a conversation about the features of Pega Platform for managing and validating application data throughout the Case Life Cycle, including Field Types, UI controls, Form validation, and Data Transforms.

Using Socrates: 
  • Learning Objectives: Accessible in the pane on the left side of the conversation area.
  • Preferences: Customize Language, Conversation style, and Industry, and enable Socrates Audio (text-to-speech).
  • Conversation: Create new line in your chat with Socrates by pressing Shift+Enter. Press Enter to submit your complete response.

  • Assessment results guide Socrates in filling knowledge gaps.

After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Ensure the validity of user data with out-of-the-box UI controls in App Studio.
  • Use business logic to validate user-entered data on Forms.
  • Incorporate Data Transforms to set and update field values during Case processing.
  • Set a default value for specific fields at Case creation to facilitate faster data entry.
