Scenario

U+ Bank uses Pega Customer Decision Hub™ to present personalized credit card offers to their customers on its website. The business users want to use product holding information of a customer as an eligibility condition to avoid making a product offer that they already own. As a system architect, you want to associate the product holding data with the customer profile and enable access to the ProductID data in engagement policies.

Note: In the exercise system environment, the ProductHolding data class, its properties and the ProductHolding data set are already present.

Use the following credentials to log in to the exercise system:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Add the product holding data source to the allow list

As a system architect, add the product holding data source from the Profile Data Source landing page in the Customer Decision Hub portal to the allow list.

Task 2: Associate the product holding profile data source with the customer context

Associate the allow-listed product holding data source with the customer context from the Profile Designer landing page.

Task 3: Use the associated data source in engagement policies

Create an applicability condition to filter an offer that the customer already has in their product holdings. Use the ProductID at the Sales / Credit Cards group level for this condition.

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Detailed Tasks

1 Add the product holding data source to the allow list

  1. Log in as a system architect with User name CRMDecisioningAdministrator and Password install.
  2. In Dev Studio, click Launch portal > Customer Decision Hub to open Pega Customer Decision Hub.

  3. In the navigation pane of Customer Decision Hub, click Data > Profile Data Sources.

  4. On the Profile Data Sources landing page, click Add > Data set to display the Add Data set dialog box.

  5. In the Add data set dialog box, in the Data set list, enter or select ProductHolding.

  6. Click Add to include the data set in the allow list.

2 Associate the product holding profile data source with the customer context

  1. In the navigation pane of Customer Decision Hub , click Data > Profile Designer.

  2. In the upper-right corner, click Edit to modify the customer profile.
  3. In the Customer (Primary) section, click Add associated data > Data set > ProductHolding.

  4. In the Add associated data dialog box, in the Data source key list, select CustomerID
  5. Click Add to map the data source key.

  6. Save your changes.

3 Use the associated data source in engagement policies

  1. In the navigation pane of Customer Decision Hub, click Next-Best-Action > Designer.

  2. Click Engagement policy to begin using the data source in an engagement policy.

  3. In the Business structure section, under Sales business issue, click the CreditCards group.

  4. Click Edit to add a new applicability condition.
  5. In the Applicability section, click the Add icon to add a new row.

  6. In the new condition row, enter or select ProductID.
