Scenario

Sales representative Noah Smith has been working on an opportunity for Ian Thomas. Ian just called Noah and requested additional information that includes cost estimates.

As Noah, capture the interaction with Ian and create a reminder for the cost estimate.

Use the following credentials to log in to the exercise system:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Add an activity to the opportunity for the interaction with Ian.

Task 2: Add a task as a reminder to create the cost estimate.

 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Detailed Tasks

1 Add an activity to the opportunity for the interaction with Ian

  1. Log in to your exercise system as sales representative Noah Smith.
  2. On the left, from the Explorer panel, click Opportunities. The opportunities for Noah Smith are displayed.
  3. Click the Individual opportunities tab.
  4. In the Primary contact field header, from the Actions menu, select filter, then select Starts with and enter Ian.
  5. In the Decision stage, click U+ Home Internet for Ian Thomas. The opportunity is displayed.
  6. Select Actions > Add activity.
  7. On the New activity page, populate the form with the following values:
    1. Subject: Request for cost estimates
    2. What was the outcome?: Customer would like further information on competitive prices.
    3. Communication type: Phone
    4. Date: <today's date>
    5. Person type: Lead
    6. Lead: Ian Thomas
    7. Related to type: Opportunity
    8. Opportunity: U+ Home Internet for Ian Thomas
  8. Click Submit to add the activity to the opportunity.
  9. In the left navigation for the opportunity, click Activities and Tasks. Verify that the activity is shown.

2 Add a task as a reminder to create the cost estimate

  1. Select Actions > Add task. The new task screen is displayed.
  2. On the new Task screen, populate the from with the following values:
    1. Subject: Cost estimate for Ian Thomas
    2. Type: Customer Communication
    3. Due date: <today's date, plus one week>
    4. Priority: High
    5. Start date: <today's date>
    6. Status detail: In Progress
    7. Person type: Lead
    8. Lead: Ian Thomas
    9. Related to type: Opportunity
    10. Opportunity: U+ Home Internet for Ian Thomas
    11. Comments: Create and send cost estimate to Ian Thomas.
  3. Click Submit to add the task to the opportunity.
  4. In the left navigation for the opportunity, click Activities and Tasks. Verify that the task is shown.
