Detailed Tasks

1 General directions to candidates

Through the certification process, Pegasystems is attempting to get to know you as a person, a leader, and as a Pega professional. You use the demo and the panel discussion to express who you are as a person and explain your leadership style.

We are looking to gauge your technical skills and business acumen in the 1:1 Customer Engagement space. Use examples to showcase your technical expertise with the latest version of Customer Decision Hub when you demo your use case. Use best practices to design your solution, make use of the Data Model or sample data, and walk the panel through the choices that you made while designing the solution, explaining why you chose that path. Highlight your business knowledge, industry-specific understanding, and client-specific business conditions.

Finally, we are looking to see if you can serve as a trusted advisor to clients. You should bring relevant examples of where you have counseled and coached your clients through a successful deployment. Do not be shy about discussing the challenges that you faced, how you faced those challenges, and the impact that you drove for your clients.

2 Guidelines for the use case

Use this Pega Academy instance to create a use case based on your experiences in the financial services, communications, healthcare industries, or any other industry of which you have broad, deep knowledge.

Here are some points you can follow when creating a use case:

  • Design and develop a specific use case in the provided Pega Academy instance.
  • Describe the client situation, the use case, and the business outcomes that your use case will drive.
  • Draw on specific client situations in your use case or focus on an area that you are passionate about.
  • Use the use case to establish your thought leadership and knowledge of the latest version of Pega software as outlined in the syllabus.
  • Lead a discussion and explain the logic and the decisions that you made when designing the use case.
  • Demonstrate a thorough grasp of the key concepts of NBA Designer, Customer Insights Cache (CIC), and other topics outlined in the syllabus.
  • Outline the challenges that you faced during development and implementation and discuss alternate techniques to overcoming those challenges.
  • Highlight your implementation approach in a client situation by using Pega Express™ design approach or Agile methodology.
  • Emphasize your industry vertical-specific business understanding in the design and operation of the use case.
