Scenario

Your company wants to optimize lead management by distributing incoming business-to-business (B2B) leads among sales representatives based on the following rules. The rules are listed in the order of priority.

  1. If the industry is insurance or healthcare route to Ben Miller.
  2. Route all other leads to the sales representative with least workload in the LeadWorkGroup work group.

The following table provides the credentials you need to complete the challenge:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Create a routing rule.

Task 2: Verify the routing rule.

 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Detailed Tasks

1 Create a routing rule

  1. Log in to Pega Sales Automation as the sales administrator user:
    1. In the User name field, enter SalesSampleAdmin.
    2. In the Password field, enter rules.
  2. In App Studio, in the left navigation menu, click SA Tools > Manage lead routing.
  3. In the Selling Mode field, click B2B.
  4. Click Add condition to add a new routing rule.
  5. In the Route to list, select Operator.
  6. In the Value field, enter or select bmiller.
  7. Configure the condition for the lead routing:
    1. In the first list, enter Industry or select Fields > Industry.
    2. In the second list, select is equal to.
  8. To the right of the third field, click the Gear icon to open the Select values window:
    1. In the Type list, select Choices.
    2. In the second list, select Insurance, and then click Submit.
  9. On the right, click the Add icon to add another condition:
    1. In the first list, enter Industry or select Fields > Industry.

    2. In the second list, select is equal to.
  10. To the right of the third field, click the Gear icon to open the Select values window:
    1. In the Type list, select Choices.
    2. In the second list, select Healthcare, and then click Submit.
  11. On the line between the two conditions, change and to or.
  12. In the otherwise condition, in the Route to list, select Route based on availability, skillset and work load, and then click Edit parameters:
    1. In the Workgroup list, select Specify value.
    2. In the second field, enter or select AccountManager, and then click Ok.
  13. In the upper-right corner, click Save.

2 Verify the routing rule

  1. Log in to Pega Sales Automation as the sales operations user:
    1. In the User name field, enter SalesSampleOps.
    2. In the Password field, enter rules.
  2. In the navigation pane of Sales Automation, select Create > Business Lead.
  3. In the New business Lead dialog box, configure the lead:
    1. In the Last name field, enter Smith.
    2. In the Routing section, select Automatic.
    3. In the Company field, enter ABC Anything Inc.
    4. In the Industry list, select Finance, Insurance, Real estate.
    5. In the Territory list, select Northwest, and then select Is primary.
    6. Click Submit to close the dialog box.
  4. Log out as Sales Operator.
  5. Log in to Pega Sales Automation as the sales representative:
    1. In the User name field, enter bmiller.
    2. In the Password field, enter rules.
  6. In the navigation pane of Sales Automation, click Leads.
  7. Verify that the new lead is displayed in the list of leads.
