Scenario

In the initial phase of the project, the U+ Comms technical team wants to use the same SMS delivery infrastructure that is currently in use. The team wants to ensure that the system generates the delivery output correctly. The communication occurs at the subscription level.

The adaptive models are not yet trained with data and are not mature. Disable the Outbound model maturity Next-Best-Action Designer setting to ensure that the system does not filter the output.

Tip: A variation of this scenario exists in Defining an action for outbound.

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Initialization may take up to 5 minutes so please be patient.

Detailed Tasks

1 Other details

  1. Disable the Outbound model maturity setting from Next-Best-Action Designer Configurations.
Outbound model maturity of Next Best Action Designer
Caution: In an actual implementation, keep this setting turned on. The propensity of AI models will be less reliable in the beginning when a new action is introduced. When this option is enabled, Pega Customer Decision Hub initially targets the outbound Actions only to 2% of the population who qualify for those Actions. The models start to learn as they receive customer responses. As the models start to learn the target population for corresponding Actions is gradually increased. When the models receive about 200 positive responses, 100% of the population is allowed to be presented with those Actions. This approach ensures that the immature models get an opportunity to learn from customer responses, while most of the population continues to receive relevant Actions.
  1. Create and run a secondary 1:1 Outbound schedule at the subscription level in Pega Customer Decision Hub™ with the following settings:
Caution: The primary schedule is at the household level. For this exercise, create a secondary schedule at the subscription level as there is no household data. In an actual implementation, Using additional schedules is not recommended. Engagement policies for additional schedules may not produce the expected results if the top context is not selected. Only data relative to the selected context will be available.
