GoGoRoad stakeholders have requested that New Vendor Case Type be localized into the Spanish language. Fortunately, Pega Platform™ supports language translation using the Localization Wizard.
The Lead System Architect on the GoGoRoad project has tasked you with localizing the New Vendor Case Type of the GoGoRoad application. To accomplish this task, you must export the files, translate the properties on a UI form into Spanish, import the files, set the locale settings, and then test the translated form.
As a new System Architect, your Lead System Architect has given you a collection of technical documentation links to help you get started.
The following table provides the credentials you need to complete the challenge:

1 Localize application content
Read the technical documentation provided to complete the assigned tasks. The technical documentation might have more information than you need.
Acceptance criteria
- In the GoGoRoad application, in the New Vendor Case Type, the Pega Platform Localization Wizard was used to translate into Spanish the fields from the Create View associated with the Collect vendor information Step in the New Vendor Case Type.
- The fields from the Create View were translated as follows:
Field name Spanish translation Name Nombre Street Calle City Ciudad State Estado - The GoGoRoad operator author@gogoroad has a Default locale of es_US.
Directions
- In the Pega instance for the challenge, log in as an Application Developer.
- In the Username field, enter author@gogoroad.
- In the Password field, enter pega123!.
- In the GoGoRoad application, from the Settings menu in App Studio, access the Localization landing page and create a new Translation pack for the language Spanish ES (United States).
Nota: If you have Pega GenAI enabled, select the Localize with GenAI checkbox to pre-translate your content using generative AI. For more information on using Pega GenAI in localization, see Pre-translating your application with GenAI in Constellation. - Download and extract the contents of the Translation pack as an Excel file to your local machine.
Nota: If you do not have access to Microsoft Excel, you can use an alternative spreadsheet editor or download the JSON file instead. - In the Excel file, locate each English-language Field Value and Rule Key pair that is listed in the following table, and enter the Spanish text in the Translated string es-US column as specified in the above Acceptance criteria.

- After the desired translations are complete, repackage the parent folder as a .zip archive.
- From the Localization landing page, import the zip file that contains the Excel file with the Spanish language translation.
- In Dev Studio, update the GoGoRoad operator author@gogoroad to a Default locale of es_US.
