Scenario

You are a Solution Builder responsible for preparing the HRApps application at TGB for migration to a testing environment. Before the application can be packaged and exported, the Ruleset configuration must be finalized: a delegated production Ruleset must be added, and the appropriate Access Group updated.

With the Ruleset configuration in place, you will lock and roll the application Rulesets to a deployable patch version, and then perform a minor skim to create a clean starting point for the next development cycle.

After the Rulesets are prepared, you will use the Application Packaging wizard to create a product Rule that captures all required data types, instances, and developer documentation. You will then modify the product Rule to include the delegated production Ruleset and configure it to allow unlocked Ruleset versions before exporting the application archive for the QA team.

Note: This challenge has been configured with Single sign-on (SSO) using your Pega Academy credentials. If you are not automatically signed-in to the challenge environment after initializing the instance, you may use the credentials provided.

The following table provides the credentials you need to complete the challenge:

Role User name Password
Solution Builder SSA@TGB pega123!

After completing this challenge, you should be able to:

  • Configure a production Ruleset in an application definition.
  • Grant Ruleset access through an Access Group.
  • Lock and roll application Rulesets to a patch version.
  • Skim Rulesets to a new minor version.
  • Create a product Rule using the Application Packaging wizard.
  • Modify a product Rule to include delegated production Rulesets.
  • Export an application archive for deployment.

Per completare questa operazione, è necessario avviare la propria istanza PegaChallenge.

L'inizializzazione può richiedere fino a 5 minuti, ti preghiamo di pazientare.

    CreditCheck:01-01-02 password Checked 01-01-04 CreditCheck:01-01-04
  • Update my Application to include the new RuleSet Versions is selected before submitting.

Task 3: Skim Rulesets to a new version

  • The Minor Version Ruleset Skim is configured with the following values:
    Field Value
    Starting Version 01-01-01 (HRApps Ruleset)

  • The skim is applied to the HRApps, HRAppsInt, and CreditCheck Rulesets.
  • The Application Definition is updated to reflect the highest minor version.
  • All Rulesets with warnings have their lower versions locked.

Task 4: Create the product Rule

  • A product Rule is created using the Application Packaging wizard with the highest HRAppsV2 version and highest unlocked Ruleset.
  • Constellation 01.01 is excluded during packaging.
  • The product Rule includes Data Types, instances, and Rule History for the HRAppsV2, Payroll, Assets, and Employee apps.

Task 5: Modify the product Rule and export

  • The Custom/Production Rulesets checkbox is selected for HRAppsV2 in the product Rule.
