Scenario

U+ Bank, a retail bank, wants to accelerate the development of a customer engagement strategy by using Pega Customer Engagement Blueprint™. The marketing team needs to design a personalized engagement approach for cross-selling credit card products to existing checking account customers.

The Blueprint tool uses generative AI to analyze the bank's website, generate customer personas, extract brand characteristics, create personalized experiences, and establish governance policies. The bank decides to leverage this AI-powered approach to reduce the typical strategy development timeline from months to days while supporting compliance with regulatory requirements and customer best interests. You are responsible for implementing, testing, and demonstrating this engagement strategy to the business using the Customer Engagement Blueprint.

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Get started with Blueprint

Provide organization details and engagement objectives and familiarize yourself with the blueprint agent.

Task 2: Review and configure Blueprint settings

Review the industry, products, and services identified by AI, and then configure the outcomes and channels.

Task 3: Review AI-generated personas and brand voice

Review the AI-generated personas and brand voice. Optionally, configure the Visual identity.

Task 4: Review experiences and simulate Next Best Action

Review the AI-generated experiences and simulate Next Best Action to understand how the system filters experiences and selects the most relevant action for a specific customer.

Task 5: Review summary and calculate ROI

Review the complete overview of your Blueprint that you create and calculate the potential value of implementing this strategy with Pega Customer Decision Hub™.

Detailed Tasks

1 Get started with Blueprint

  1. Navigate to https://www.pega.com/customer-engagement-blueprint and log in with your Pega credentials.
  2. On the Pega Customer Engagement Blueprint web page, click Build a Blueprint.
  3. In My Customer Engagement Blueprint Dashboard, click Create a Blueprint.

  4. In Let's start your Customer Engagement Blueprint page, complete the details:
    1. In the Organization name field, enter U+ Bank.
    2. In the Organization website field, enter https://customerengagementenablement.github.io/U-BankWebsite/.
    3. In the Engagement Objective field, enter Increase credit card adoption among customers aged 25-55.
    4. In the Objective details for your messaging field, enter Target existing checking account customers between 25-55 years old to promote credit card products and services, with personalized offers based on their banking history and financial profile.
    5. In the Language list, ensure English is selected.

  5. An AI Assistant called Blueprint Agent is available to assist you throughout the creation of the Blueprint. Ask the AI Assistant What does the Upload supporting content button do?

The agent explains that the button lets you provide additional documents that the agents can analyze, such as marketing briefs or strategy documents. Use the AI Assistant as needed while creating the Blueprint.

  1. Review the details and click Next.

2 Review and configure Blueprint settings

  1. In the Setup stage of Blueprint, review the following details:
    1. Ensure that Industry is selected as Banking.
    2. Ensure that Cards is listed under Products and Services.
    Note: The AI retrieved this information from the U+ Bank website. You can use the edit icon to update these selections. In this scenario, Cards represents credit card products and services for existing banking customers.
  2. In the Outcomes list, select Grow and click OK.

  3. In the Channels list select Email and Web.
  4. Click Next.

3 Review AI-generated personas and brand voice

  1. In the Personas stage, review the AI-generated Personas.
    Note: These personas reflect the key audiences your business aims to engage with. You can generate, add, remove and edit personas according to your engagement strategy.

  2. Click Next to see the brand voice.
  3. In the Brand stage, review the AI-generated brand voice under Voice tab.
  4. Optional: Configure U+ Bank's visual identity under the Visual Identity tab as needed.
  5. Verify that the generated sample experience aligns with the brand voice.

  6. Click Next to generate experiences.

4 Review experiences and simulate Next Best Action

  1. In the Experiences stage, review the generated actions and corresponding treatments.
    Note: Each experience combines an Action (for example, cash back for Premium Rewards Card) with treatments for each Channel (Email message, Web banner). The AI generated these based on U+ Bank's products and engagement objective.

You can use the available options to improve the experiences based on your business requirements. In this scenario, no additional improvements are required.

  1. Click Simulate the Next Best Action.

    Note: The Next-Best-Action simulation demonstrates how Blueprint filters experiences to find the right action for a specific customer.
  1. Click Next to review how the actions are filtered through each stage until Next Best Action.
  2. In the Next-Best-Action stage, review the top action and its treatment selected for the persona.
  3. Click Let's send some messages to see how customers will experience the messages by sending a sample email:
    1. In the Email address field enter your email address, then click Send message.

    2. Check your inbox to see how the treatment appears to customers.
  4. Close the simulation window.
  5. Click Next to the summary stage.

5 Review summary and calculate ROI

  1. Review the complete Blueprint summary that shows all sections.
Note: The Summary provides a complete overview of your Blueprint and calculates the potential value of implementing this strategy with Customer Decision Hub.
  1. In the Potential value of Pega Customer Decision Hub section, in the How many customers does your organization have? list, select 10,000,000.
  2. Click Calculate and see the result.

    Note: The calculator estimates the annual value of implementing this engagement strategy with Customer Decision Hub, which typically shows significant projected value.
  3. Click Download Blueprint to save the Blueprint (.cdhblueprint) file.
    Note: The Blueprint file contains all your Personas, brand guidelines, Actions, treatments, and basic policy structure. You can import this file into 1:1 Operations Manager to accelerate your implementation in Customer Decision Hub.
