A solution depends on more than identifying the data a Case needs. The design must establish what that data means, where it belongs, where reusable information is managed, and how data and events cross the application boundary. This module develops the judgment required to shape a coherent Data and Integration Design from business intent.

You will refine AI-generated Data Models, define Fields and relationships, distinguish Case-owned data from reusable Data Records, and establish source, exchange, persistence, and data fitness requirements. You will also examine how validated data and integration decisions carry into Pega Infinity™ and assess the connected design to identify and prioritize refinements before progressing further into Authoring.

After completing this module, you should be able to:

Analyze stakeholder and Case Design information to identify the business entities, Case data, relationships, and external dependencies required to support the outcome.

Define Fields with clear business meaning, data-quality intent, and appropriate use throughout the Case journey.

Distinguish among Data Objects, Embedded Data, Data References, User References, and Case References based on data ownership, reuse, and relationship needs.

Determine where reusable Data Records are managed and define the business purpose, direction, and expected result of interactions across the application boundary.

Define integration requirements that preserve the meaning, currency, trust, and intended use of exchanged data and inbound events.

Establish how accepted changes should persist beyond the Case, including the responsible system, persistence point, and expected Case response.

Explain how validated Data Model, data access, persistence, and integration decisions are represented and refined in Pega Infinity.

Review the connected Data and Integration Design, identify consequential dependencies, and prioritize refinements that improve delivery confidence.
