This video shows us how to create and extend a Pega Collections application using Pega Blueprint™.

Let us consider a business scenario: U+ Bank, a retail bank, wants to build and extend a new Collections application for its Collections department.

To do this by yourself, navigate to Blueprint Dashboard | Pega Platform Blueprint and then click Create a Blueprint button to create a new Blueprint for a Collections application.

To set the context for the Collections application, select Banking as the industry and click Next. Select Retail Banking as sub-industry and then select Collections in Department/function list. Click Next.

Provide more details for the Collections application to improve the context of the application. Select Collections in Application purpose list, which fills the Functional description text box with relevant details. You can choose to tweak the description to suit your requirements better. For this business scenario, enter the Organization's name as U+ Retail Bank. Select the Language as English and then click Next.

Blueprint now translates the provided inputs along with Pega's understanding of the industry into relevant artifacts.

You can now see that in the Workflows step, Blueprint has already created the essential Case Types such as Schedule payment plan, Make payment and Repossess collateral in the list. You can add a new Case Type Offer settlement to settle dues faster.

Click Add a Case Type link and then enter Offer settlement in Case Type name and relevant Case Type description. Click Save to add this new Case Type to the existing Case Types list.

Click Next. Blueprint now creates details of workflows for each Case Type created in the application.

In the Workflow Details step, you will see workflow designs and Case data for all the earlier created Case Types. Select the Offer settlement Case. Based on the description provided, Blueprint has already created logical Stages and Steps to complete the service request along with the Data Model. You can tweak this design to suit your requirements.

For this business scenario, click Add a field link, to add a Boolean property, to capture customer wish to propose a custom offer. Enter the relevant details in the pop-up window and then click Save to add this new field. You can also edit the existing fields.

In the Case Lifecycle, you can make changes to Stages and Steps to suit the business requirements better. Change the Retrieve Settlement Offers Step to Automation. Alter the fields in Select or Propose Offer Step to ensure display of appropriate fields, and the system captures required data. You can add new Steps and move Steps across the Stages.

Similarly, for the next three Stages, Data & Integrations, Personas, and Features, you can review and alter Blueprint created objects in them to match the business requirements.

Click Preview my app to run simulations on different channels such as contact center, mobile and web self-service with sample data.

In the Summary Stage, download the Blueprint file to create the application in the Pega Infinity Studio.

Log in to the Pega Infinity Studio as a Developer. Click Customer Service > Create new Application from Blueprint.

Click Build from a Blueprint button and then click Select a Blueprint to upload button. Select the blueprint file that you downloaded earlier and then click Open.

The screen now shows the applications details from the blueprint selected earlier. Click Customize build to review and build the application in steps.

In Case Types step, you see the Case Types that were created in the Blueprint. Click Next.

In Data Objects, Personas and Features step, you see the respective objects that were created in the Blueprint. Click Next at each step to move to the next step.

In the Review step, you can review the Application settings, Case classes and Data classes. Click Submit to build the application.

You can now see the application being created. The progress bar gives the progress extent in real time, and the Build summary section tells you the exact piece of build happening. This step takes a few minutes to complete.

Once the application is created from the blueprint, click on Go to new application to open the application in Infinity Studio.

Click Preview app >Interaction portal to launch the interaction portal in the browser.

The Collections application is now available for use.
