Social metrics provide visualizations to help you answer the following types questions related to resources and activities:
  • What is the average time an employee takes to complete a selected activity?
  • Who on the team usually performs a specific task?

Social metrics for Activities

The Social - Activities page includes detailed information about all activities that you define for your application. For example, you can get data about the average event throughput in a certain activity to verify whether the process works properly.

Apart from static data, Social - Activities also features clickable visualizations that you can use to drill down to information about resources and the relationships between activities. In this way, for example, you can retrieve comprehensive metrics of resources that are associated with the particular activity.

The following figure shows an example of analyzed data about activities:

Social metrics for Resources

NOTE: The Social - Resources page is only available if the Resources column is included in the data source and also selected during View creation.

If available, the Social - Resources page provides a broad analysis of all resources included in the View. For example, you can discover top activities among resources or learn more about metrics for a certain employee. Similarly to the Social - Activities page, the Social - Resources page includes clickable figures that you can use to drill down to get more information. In this way, for example, you can learn about correlation between resources.

The following figure shows an example of this page, where you can review the Main Metrics for your resources, search for a specific resource, and click to drill down for additional information in the charts and graphs.

The Social - Resources page provides a Main Metrics area and several clickable figures to help you drill down for more information.

If you also defined the Resource Group column for the View, you have the option of grouping the Resources Network graph to see the relationships between groups.

Resources metrics use case

You discovered a bottleneck in the Dispatch activity, and you want to analyze your resources to see who is most often performing which activities. To find this information, enter the name of a resource and then select Drilldown > Search Resource, as shown in the following figure:

After entering a resource name, expand the Drilldown drop-down list and select Search Resource.
Searching for a resource
The Social - Resources page displays metrics and charts for the specific resource. At the bottom of the page, the Top Activities Overview graph shows the different activities that the employee performs. This employee has a high count in the Dispatched activity, so you add him to a list of employees that you want to poll about the Dispatching procedures.
