Scenario

InnovateTech Solutions plans to offer a comprehensive selection of products and services designed to deliver a top-tier entertainment experience. These include premium streaming services, high-capacity digital video recorders (DVRs), extensive channel packages, and a wireless set-top box (STB). These offerings ensure that customers can enjoy a wide range of content across various devices, whether they are at home or on the go.

As a sales operator, you are tasked with first creating a price book called Ultimate Entertainment and Devices with the products listed below, and then adding the price book to the Wireless STB for the Matthew Smith opportunity.

The price book must include the following products with their list price:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Create a price book

Create a price book with the name Ultimate Entertainment and Devices. The price book must include the following products with their list price:

Task 2: Add the price book to an individual opportunity

Go to the Individual opportunities tab, and then in the Proposal stage, click the Wireless STB for Matthew Smith opportunity to use a custom price book.

Task 3: Confirm your work

Test the scenario by logging in as a sales representative. Go to the Individual opportunities > Wireless STB for Matthew Smith opportunity, and then, on the opportunity review screen, observe the price book and the list of its products.

 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Detailed Tasks

1 Create a price book

1. In the Pega instance for the challenge, click Launch Pega Infinity to log in to the Sales Automation application:
   1. In the User name field, enter SalesSampleOps.
   2. In the Password field, enter rules.
2. Click Create and then select Price book.
   Note: You can also create price books on the Price books landing page, by clicking Add price book.

3. In the Create price book dialog box, complete the following fields:
   1. In the Name field, enter a unique and descriptive name for the price book. For example, Ultimate Entertainment and Devices.
   2. In the Start Date field, select today's date.
   3. In the End Date field, select the date that is 15 days after today's date.
      Note: If you do not want to activate the price book immediately upon creation, clear the Active checkbox.
   4. In the Description field, enter a description for the price book. For example, Ultimate Entertainment and Devices to deliver a top-tier entertainment experience.
      

4. Click Submit.
5. In the Add price book entries section, select the checkboxes associated with the following products to include in the price book, and then click Next:
   • HBO Max
   • Helios DVR 500 GB
   • Netflix Premium
   • Ultimate 300+ Channels
   • Wireless STB
6. In the Price book entries table, in the List price field for each product, enter the price at which you want to list the product in this price book.
   
7. Click Submit.
8. Refresh the table to display the price book entries. The Price books landing page displays the price book that you created.
   

2 Add the price book to an individual opportunity

1. Expand the navigation pane, and then go to the Opportunities section.
2. Click the Individual opportunities tab and then, in the Proposal stage, click the Wireless STB for Matthew Smith opportunity to use a custom price book.
3. On the opportunity review screen, in the Actions menu, select Change price book.
4. In the Change price book dialog box, if the Current price book is Product catalog, then in the Price Book Type field select Custom.
5. In the Price book field, select the Ultimate Entertainment and Devices price book.
6. In the Update Products section, click Add, and then select the products that you want to add to the opportunity. Let us add any of the three products. The system populates the products with the list price defined in the price book.
   
7. Click Submit.
8. Refresh the products table to view the updated products and pricing
