Getting started with Deployment Manager service

Use the Deployment Manager service to orchestrate application deployments across Route to Live (RTL) environments in your Pega Cloud® account. The service helps you manage changes across Branches, define quality and security checkpoints, and build through pipelines using configurable processes across RTL environments.

Use the following procedure to get started quickly with Deployment Manager service:

  1. Log in to My Pega Cloud, and then click the My cloud setup tile to access all Pega Cloud environments.
View all Pega Cloud environments to which you have information about the environment name, Pega version, environment type, and so on.
  2. Expand the view for an environment, and then click Deployment Manager to launch the Deployment Manager service.
Note: If you are a new user onboarding to your organization to use the Deployment Manager service, make sure you have the Cloud Deployment Specialist role so you can sign in to the Deployment Manager service portal. To get this role, see Understanding Support user roles

Once you log in, you can onboard other users to the Deployment Manager service by assigning them roles specific to their Deployment Manager usage. You can manage roles within the Deployment Manager portal. For more information, see Managing users.

Users who log in to the Deployment Manager should have Cloud Deployment Specialist OR Deployment Manager roles added through  Manage Users.

  3. Ensure that the Deployment Manager service portal lists all RTL environments required to perform deployment tasks.
  4. In the Deployment Manager service portal, click Resources > Environments, and then verify that all required environments are listed.
  5. Configure your application.
For more information, see Configuring an application.
  6. Create your first pipeline.
For more information, see Creating your first pipeline.
  7. Verify the diagnostic report that displays on the pipeline and ensure that the setup and configuration are correct.
For more information, see Running and troubleshooting diagnostic errors on pipelines.
  8. Start your deployment.
For more information, see Testing and starting deployment.
