Blueprint Delivered and hands-on expectations

You know U+Bank’s problem.  Here is the approach that shapes how you will work and what to expect from the labs ahead.

What is Blueprint Delivered?

Blueprint Delivered™ is Pega’s AI-enabled delivery approach that makes the design itself the central, continuous asset. Instead of separate phases and handoffs, it uses Pega Blueprint™ to capture business intent and turn it into a high-fidelity, import-ready design that flows directly into build, keeping alignment from the first idea through to a working application.

The Blueprint serves as the “Golden Thread,” a shared, living artifact that helps teams maintain alignment with business intent throughout design, build, and validation.

The three phases

Design and build continuum from Blueprinting through Authoring and Value Activation.
  • Phase 1 - Blueprinting: A structured, collaborative design process that translates business intent into a high-fidelity Blueprint and validates acceptance intent early through Preview. This is the Blueprint Delivered phase you will practice in this tutorial.
  • Phase 2 - Authoring: Solution Builders import the Blueprint into Pega Infinity Studio™ and iteratively configure a running Pega Infinity™ application, continuously validating it against the design.
  • Phase 3 - Value Activation: The solution is deployed, validated end-to-end, including UAT, and formally accepted against the Blueprint intent.

Achieving high-fidelity

A high-fidelity Blueprint is complete on the following fronts: a clear application foundation; defined scope and prioritization; detailed case-type workflows; fully specified steps (collect information, decisions, automations, SLAs); data and integration intent; persona definition and refinement; and validation through Preview and stakeholder collaboration.

Your responsibility as a Solution Designer

These exercises put you in the Solution Designer’s seat. You will generate a Blueprint from the U+Bank scenario, progressively enrich it with the context and detail a production-quality build needs, and finish with a Blueprint ready to hand to a Solution Builder for import into Pega Infinity Studio.

Solution Designer and Solution Builder are responsibilities, not fixed job titles. Solution Designer is about designing the right things, and Solution Builder is about building the things right. They work together continuously, preserving the Golden Thread.

What to expect from the hands-on labs

Each lab is a concise tutorial with a matching solution guide. You will build the Loan Application case type end-to-end. There is no single “model answer” for every step. The aim is to create a Blueprint that reflects the high-fidelity considerations stated above and to develop the design judgment needed to get there.

Color indicators for design completeness

Workflow Steps and Data Objects are displayed with color-based completeness indicators. This visual feedback helps you quickly identify where design detail is still missing and where content is ready for handoff.

As you add information, each item progresses through idea (gray), in-progress (yellow), and detailed completion (green) levels, so you can review the maturity of a Blueprint at a glance.

Preview early, preview often

You do not have to wait until the final lab to see your design. As soon as you have visited the Summary screen once, the Preview button is available. Make previewing a habit. After each stage you shape, walk through the Preview to catch anything missing or confusing while it is still cheap to change.
