Configurations

Configurations in Pega Smart Investigate Agentic Automation™ (SIAA) enable administrators to customize system behavior without code changes or deployments. Use these setting to manage functionality, implement role-based portals, and apply brand-specific styling to the application. Configuration settings, portal architecture, and UI customization options support organizational needs, regional requirements, and rollout strategies.

Configuration settings

In SIAA, configuration settings control system behavior through explicit toggle points. These toggles are typically on/off switches or value-based flags that activate optional or advanced functionality. This model provides granular flexibility without requiring code changes or deployments. Administrators can enable or disable features directly through configuration to meet operational needs, regional requirements, or rollout strategies.

Examples of configurable options include:

  • Activate or hide optional UI elements.
  • Enable enhanced validation rules.
  • Control routing logic behavior.
  • Enable integrations or specialized workflows.

This approach replaces hardcoded or environment-specific logic with a transparent and consistent method for managing optionality across implementations.

After reviewing available configuration options in the administration portal, select the appropriate toggles for your business needs. Test each configuration to confirm expected results.

Additional considerations:

  • Enable advanced features in stages after core functionality is stable.
  • Establish a configuration change control process with testing and approval steps.
  • Create environment-specific configuration profiles for development, testing, and production.
  • Document configuration dependencies to understand the impact of changes across the system.

UI look and feel

SIAA supports fine-grained control of the UI look and feel through the latest Pega Constellation™ features. You can apply a consistent skin and color palette across the application to reflect your brand and tone.

To customize the UI:

  • Define the application name and update the short description to display it in the portal.
  • Update the skin and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to apply your organization's branding.
