Dashboards

Dashboards

By default, Pega Platform™ has two role-based interfaces for the two most common roles – case manager and case worker. Each role-based interface includes a dashboard tailored to the role. Dashboards display operational information about your application and key performance indicators (KPIs), including the number of assigned items or the average time to resolve a case. When a user with the Case Manager role signs in to the Pega Platform application, they are presented with a dashboard tailored to the Case Manager role that includes information they need to complete their work. For example, the user can see the number of open cases and overdue assignments that are assigned to them. Dashboards that contain only the needed information for a particular role help increase productivity.

Dashboard organization

The layout of a dashboard is defined by a template that divides the workspace into slots. Slots are containers for one or more widgets, which are elements of the user interface that display information about the application and KPIs. For example, the right column template contains two vertical slots. The slot on the left contains a Case life cycle widget and a Worklist widget. The slot on the right contains a widget with Case Manager shortcuts, a Case status widget, and a Team members widget.

Dashboard personalization

The default dashboard is assigned based on the user role. The developer can configure the dashboard for a role by publishing changes to the default dashboard. Then, the end user can access the published default dashboard assigned to their role.

The end user can personalize the default dashboard by publishing changes to their dashboard instance. If the end user personalizes their dashboard, the changes that a developer publishes to a default dashboard do not override or reset the end user's personalized dashboard.

Pega Platform provides various templates that allow developers and end users to organize widgets differently. The provided templates have different numbers and orientations of slots. Switch templates and add or remove widgets from different slots to personalize the dashboard.
