Getting started with Blueprint Delivered
Blueprint Delivered™ reflects how AI-native delivery changes the way teams design, build, and deliver outcomes that teams can trust. Pega Blueprint™ and Infinity Studio work together to accelerate delivery. Governance, auditability, and best practices are included from day one. In Generative AI is changing the world | Pega Academy, you learned how generative AI changed the world and established why the delivery model had to change. Now, you will discover how practitioners work differently inside that change.
The shift is real and already visible in how teams structure, how design flows into build, and how projects distribute accountability. The following sections describe what that looks like in practice.
How skills work together across the phases
Blueprint Delivered organizes work by two primary skill sets. These skill sets represent modes of accountability that operate across all three phases of the methodology, rather than organizational chart titles.
- Solution Designer: Accountable for designing the correct solution. Works in Blueprint to translate business intent into a high-fidelity, build-ready specification.
- Solution Builder: Accountable for building the correct solution. Imports the Blueprint into Pega Infinity and activates value from a validated starting point.
A single person or multiple people on the same team can hold these skill sets. Accountability is essential. The design must be owned and validated before it becomes the starting point for build.
Across the Blueprint Delivered lifecycle, solution design and solution building responsibilities shift by phase while remaining tightly coordinated. During Blueprinting (Alignment and Design), solution design leads the effort by facilitating intent capture with business stakeholders, driving the Blueprint to high fidelity, and owning sign‑off on the implementation‑ready specification. Solution building supports by providing technical feasibility input and validating that the Blueprint is ready for build before Authoring begins.
In the Authoring (Application Assembly) phase, solution building takes the lead by importing the high‑fidelity Blueprint, assembling application components from a governed starting point, and maintaining alignment with the design throughout the build, while solution design supports by remaining available for clarification, resolving edge cases as they surface, and owning any mid‑sprint Blueprint updates.
The Value Activation (Production Readiness) is phase is co-led by the Solution Designer and Solution Builder. The Solution Builder focuses on driving the application to production through UAT readiness and data migration, deployment, runbooks and cutover and non-functional requirement hardening and defect prevention. The Solution Designer works on value review, stakeholder adoption and change management and understanding and communicating any deltas between the Blueprint and what was built.
Key benefits
Blueprint Delivered is not a methodology layer on top of your existing tools. It is a fundamentally different operating model, and for practitioners, that difference shows as concrete advantages from the first day of a project.

What it means for practitioners |
|
Built-in governance |
AI coding tools deliver speed. Blueprint Delivered delivers at that same speed inside a governed enterprise framework. Auditability, best practices, and guardrails are built into the design from the start, not added at the end. |
|
Agile-ready |
Blueprint Delivered does not replace your Agile ceremonies or your user stories. It changes their function. Instead of being the source of business intent, stories become thin delivery units grounded in a validated Blueprint rather than the primary source of business intent. Refinement shifts from discovery to confirmation: outcomes are agreed upon before refinement begins, so sprints start from a high-fidelity, build-ready specification. Familiar practices remain. The starting point improves. |
|
AI-enabled delivery |
The technology underneath is different this time. Blueprint Delivered reduces handoffs and translation artifacts, moving design and build closer together. The high-fidelity Blueprint is the application waiting to be assembled. Design and build are no longer separated by translation. |
The relevance of Blueprint today and tomorrow
Blueprint Delivered applies to all delivery types: new application builds, legacy modernization, cloud migration, and adding new workflows to an existing Pega environment. The methodology does not assume a clean slate. It assumes the complexity of real enterprise environments and is designed to deliver working software in 90 days.
Blueprint is the primary tool for creating and modifying Rules in Pega Infinity™. Blueprint uses an open architecture for AI-assisted development that enterprises can adapt as their requirements change.
