This video shows you how to import a generated Blueprint into Pega Platform to build a new application.
U+ Insurance, an insurance company, created a Blueprint to design an insurance claims operations application. The company wants to import the Blueprint into Pega Platform to build a new application.
This document is a summary of the Blueprint, which is available in PDF format. You have the application Blueprint file exported.
To begin, create a new application in Dev Studio. Then, select Build from a Blueprint to build an application based on the Blueprint.
Proceed to upload the exported Blueprint.
The application will, by default, be built on the Pega Platform (with Constellation UI). However, you can build it on an existing application to reuse assets. The application stack is displayed on the right.
You must save your application as a template for other users to build a new application from that sample quickly. The newly created application automatically inherits template logic, data, and Personas.
In this example, you build it on top of an existing application.
Verify the application settings and the Blueprint details.
Next, the Case Type overview is displayed. Here, you can build the Case Type as mapped in the Blueprint, inherit from an existing Case Type, or opt not to build a selected Case Type though it is part of the Blueprint.
If you choose to inherit from an existing Case Type, the system creates a new Case Type that inherits assets from an existing Case Type in the built-on application.
In this example, you use the Case Types as in the Blueprint.
Optionally, you can copy Case Types from the built-on application into your new application.
You can also view the Case Life Cycle, if required.
Confirm that the data objects are listed as in the Blueprint PDF file. Like the Case Types, you can build the data object as in the Blueprint, inherit from an existing data object, reuse an existing data object, or opt not to build a selected data object though it is part of the Blueprint.
The inherit from existing option creates a new data object that inherits assets from a data object in the built-on application.
Reusing an existing data object creates a data object that is linked to the built-on application and reuses assets from a data object in that application but does not have its own class in your new application.
In this example, you reuse a data object.
Optionally, you can add data objects from the built-on application into your new application.
Then, verify if the Personas are listed as in the Blueprint PDF file. Here, you can build the persona as in the Blueprint or opt not to build it, though it is part of the Blueprint.
Next, review the basic settings and structure of your new application and ensure that they are correct for your intended business use case. Ensure that the class layers, Case classes, and data classes are correct.
The application creation process is now in progress.
You have the option to add users to the application. Be sure to store the user password securely.
You can now view the application that you built. Navigate to Dev Studio to review the Rules created during the import process.
The application creation is now complete. With Pega GenAI Blueprint, you can develop your application faster than ever before.
