Lookup table testing

The Robot Inspector's Lookup Table tab allows you to view and edit complex data stored in lookup table components within your robotic solution. Lookup tables store any table data, such as information from an Excel spreadsheet, results from a database query, or key-value pairs representing configuration data in an automation. For more information on using Lookup Tables, see the Lookup Table Component help topic.

Lookup Table tab usage

The Lookup table tab in Robot Inspector allows you to view results from an automation that stores the result in a lookup table. The tab provides you the same access for any lookup table in an automation or automation variable. The tab also allows you to mock or test data from a data source if the data is not readily accessible or available. Being able to manipulate the data enables you to test different scenarios before trying the entire solution in a pilot or testing environment.

In the following image, click the + icons to learn more about the actions available in the Lookup Table tab.

Before using the Lookup tab in the Robot Inspector, check to see if you need to provide any data before executing your automation. To ensure your information is available during the debugging process, keep the following points in mind:

  • Export your data to verify format structure for import
  • Robot Inspector checks values in the Key column to ensure uniqueness when importing data
