Pipeline templates in deployment management

Pipeline templates help you organize pipelines by type, such as deployment, merge, update, and other use cases. This structure supports distinct business needs across different application scenarios.

The Deployment Manager service provides several pipeline templates that support specific use cases. These templates help you manage pipelines efficiently across the stages of the application lifecycle.

Enterprise application pipelines

Use these templates to deploy and manage large-scale enterprise applications. They support common DevOps workflows and promote application builds across environments.

  • Merge pipeline: Merge pipelines enable developers to submit Rule Branches for a merge after validating the changes against specific quality gates.
  • Deployment pipeline: Deployment pipelines are an application pipeline type to generate artifacts from the system of record (SOR) and deliver them through the various stages of the application lifecycle
  • Deploy artifact pipeline: Deploy artifact pipelines deploy an existing artifact that the Deployment Manager validates.

Pega Customer Decision Hub application pipelines

Tailored for Pega Customer Decision Hub™ initiatives, these templates support deployment scenarios specific to decisioning and real-time engagement use cases.

  • Business change pipeline: Business change pipelines support business-as-usual updates to your Pega Customer Decision Hub™ application.
  • Data migration pipeline: Data migration pipelines assess how changes to decisioning logic affects your business strategies.

Update pipeline

Automates and simplifies near-zero-downtime updates by automating the basic update process. With the Deployment Manager service as a standard DevOps approach during updates, you can promote the update fixes to production and non-production environments through a single pipeline. For more information, see Working with update pipelines.

Note: The Update pipeline applies to both the Enterprise application and the Customer Decision Hub application pipelines.
