The product hierarchy

Overview

Products are the goods or services that you sell to customers. In your application, you can store information about the products you sell. This allows the sales team to view sales activity, determine what products have successfully sold, and determine where opportunities may exist.

You can create a product hierarchy by making any product a child of an existing product. The following figure shows an example of the Products page with products grouped by parent name.

Products page, grouped by parent product

You can add multiple levels of hierarchy by adding new products and selecting an existing product as the parent product. For example, you can add a product named Apple iPhone, then add products named Apple iPhone 14, Apple iPhone 13, and Apple iPhone 12, all with Apple iPhone specified as the parent product. You can also select a child product as a parent product, so within the Apple iPhone 14 category, you can add products for Pro and Pro Max versions.

After you create your product hierarchy, you can then link products to leads and opportunities. Quick access to valuable product information helps to make the sales process more efficient.
