Requeue failed assignments

Pega Robot Manager provides users with the ability to requeue failed assignments. If the system cannot successfully process an assignment, for example, as a result of an automation failure, you can force the system to process the assignment again. You can requeue assignments one at a time or multiple assignments simultaneously.

Use cases for requeuing assignments

Administrators must understand how the automation relates to the system before determining whether requeuing an assignment is an appropriate first action to resolve the automation failures. When an automation detects a problem or encounters an unexpected error, the system returns the corresponding status notification to Robot Manager. Administrators can route the issue to the appropriate party for further resolution assessment or requeue the case that encountered the failure.

It is best practice for an administrator to requeue a case only if they are sure that requeuing does not negatively affect the case. For example, within a debit card payment application, requeuing an assignment would result in resubmitting the card information for purchases, which could cause critical data integrity issues. The user must assess the root issue instead of running the assignment again.

Requeuing failed assignments

The requeue option is on the Automation Failures tab of the Issues landing page in Pega Robot Manager, as shown in the following figure:

The Issue tab of Pega Robot Manager dislaying assignment isues with an option of requeuing.

Use the steps described in one of the following documents to requeue a single or multiple failed assignments:

Note: In case of assignment failure, Pega Robot Manager creates a robot activity log that you can download and use to identify the cause of the automation failure. For more information about downloading robot activity logs, see Downloading robot activity logs
