Creating an assessment

Scenario

GrantsCo. want to assess the knowledge that residents have of the available public services so that GrantsCo. can find creative ways from the public to provide the services and stimulate the local economy. The company has prepared an assessment sheet with a few questions that they want to use to capture this understanding. 

The following table provides the credentials that you need to complete the challenge:

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Detailed Tasks

1 Add the Grant Assessment to the case

  1. In the Pega Instance for the challenge, enter the following credentials:
    1. In the User name field, enter pgpcosmossysadmin.
    2. In the Password field, enter rules.
  2. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case types.
  3. In the upper-right corner of the Case types page, click New to create a new case type.
  4. In the Create case type dialog box, in the Case type name field, enter Grant Assessment.
  5. Expand the Advanced section, select Questionnaire, and then click Next.
  6. On the Grant Assessment case page, click the Data model tab.
  7. On the Data model tab, in the upper-right corner, click Add field to open the Add field to Grant Assessment dialog box.
  8. In the Add field to Grant Assessment dialog box, create five new fields: 
    Field Actions
    Project
    1. In the Field name field, enter Project.
    2. In the Type list, confirm that Text (single line) is the default selection.
    3. Click Submit & add another to add a new field.
    Community issue
    1. In the Field name field, enter Community issue.
    2. In the Type list, select Picklist.
    3. In the Display as list, select Drop-down list.
    4. In the Picklist options list, select Local.
    5. Click Add choice, and then, in the Choices field, enter the following values:
      • Clean water
      • Sanitization
      • Pollution
      • Violence
    6. Click Submit & add another to add a new field.
    Expenses
    1. In the Field name field, enter Expenses.
    2. In the Type list, select Integer.
    3. Click Submit & add another to add a new field.
    Approach
    1. In the Field name field, enter Approach.
    2. In the Type list, select Picklist.
    3. In the Display as list, select Drop-down list.
    4. In the Picklist options list, select Local.
    5. Click Add choice, and then, in the Choices field, enter the following values:
      • Yes
      • No
    6. Click Submit & add another to add a new field.
    Portion of funds
    1. In the Field name field, enter Portion of funds.
    2. In the Type list, select Picklist.
    3. In the Display as list, select Drop-down list.
    4. In the Picklist options list, select Local.
    5. Click Add choice, and then, in the Choices field, enter the following values:
      • 0% - 30%
      • 31% - 50%
      • 51% - 100%
    6. Click Submit to add the fields.
  9. Click the Questionnaire tab.
  10. On the Questionnaire tab, click Add > Question  page to add the first question page.
  11. In the Title row, click the Edit icon, and then enter Grant Assessment to label the question page.
  12. Click Add question > New to add a new question to the questionnaire.
  13. Use the following table to create five new questions:

    1. In the Text (single line) list, keep the default selection.
    2. In the text field, enter Tell us more about your program.
    3. In the Question settings section, in the Map answer to field list, select Project.
    4. Click Add question > New to add a new question.

    2. In the text field, enter What problem or need or community issue are you addressing?
    3. In the Question settings section, in the Map answer to field list, select Community issue.
    4. In the Scoring section, click the Gear icon to configure the score values.
    5. In the Binary dialog box, in the Score column, update the values:
      1. In the Clean water row, enter 1
      2. In the Sanitization row, enter 2.
      3. In the Pollution row, enter 3.
      4. In the Violence row, enter 4.
    6. Click Submit to close the dialog box.
    7. Click Add question > New to add a new question.

    1. In the Text (single line) list, select Integer.
    2. In the text field, enter What are the expenses associated with this program?
    3. In the Question settings section, in the Map answer to field list, select Expenses.
    4. Click Add question > New to add a new question.

    1. In the Text (single line) list, select Picklist.
    2. In the text field, enter Does your project take an innovative approach to the community concerns?
    3. In the Question settings section, in the Map answer to field list, select Approach.
    4. In the Scoring section, click the Gear icon to configure the score values.
    5. In the Binary dialog box, in the Score column, update the values:
      1. In the Yes row, enter 1
      2. In the No row, enter 2.
    6. Click Submit to close the dialog box.
    7. Click Add question > New to add a new question.

    1. In the Text (single line) list, select Picklist.
    2. In the text field, enter What portion of funds are needed to get this project going?
    3. In the Question settings section, in the Map answer to field list, select Portion of funds.
    4. In the Binary dialog box, in the Score column, update the values:
      1. In the 0%-30% row, enter 0.
      2. In the 31%-50% row, enter 1.
      3. In the 51%-100% row, enter 2.
    5. Click Submit to close the dialog box.
  14. In the upper-right corner of the Grant Assessment case type, click Save.

2 Configure the Grant Assessment

  1. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case types > Grant to open the Grant case type.
  2. In the Review stage, click Step > More > Processes > Conduct Assessment > Select to add the process to the step.
  3. In the Step pane on the right, in the Source list, select By name.
  4. In the Assessment list, select Grant Assessment.
  5. In the upper-right corner, click Save.
  6. In the header of App Studio, click Preview to open the user portal.
  7. In the navigation pane of the preview application, click Assessment to open the Assessment management landing page.
  8. On the Assessment management landing page, in the Configure column, click Configure to open the Configure assessment dialog box.
  9. In the Configure assessment dialog box, click Add Interpretation to add an interpretation:
    1. In the Min score field, enter 0.
    2. In the Max score field, enter 10.
    3. In the Interpretation column, enter Good.
  10. Click Add Interpretation to add a second interpretation:
    1. In the Min score field, enter 11.
    2. In the Max score field, enter 30.
    3. In the Interpretation column, enter Best.
      The Configure assessment dialog box with the minimum and maximum scores for a good and best interpretation.
  11. Click Submit to close the dialog box.
  12. Click Exit Preview to return to the Grant case type.
