Scenario
U+ Bank's marketing department wants to promote U+ Bank's Premier Rewards credit card through email. They want to send emails to qualified customers in an always-on outbound environment.
In preparation, a consultant has already created the Premier Rewards card action. The bank would like to reuse the approved design from the Standard Card email treatment. You are now expected to create a treatment for the offer and test the email Treatment.

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:
Task 1: Create an internal email treatment for Premier Rewards card
Copy the Standard card email treatment to create the Premier Rewards card email treatment.
Task 2: Configure the copied treatment
Make the necessary changes in the copied treatment to reflect the Premier Rewards card offer by using the information in the following table:

Configure the Premier Rewards card action with the new Premier Rewards card email treatment.

Detailed Tasks
1 Create an email treatment for Premier Rewards card
- On the exercise system landing page, click Launch Pega InfinityTM to log in to Customer Decision Hub.
- Log in as a Decisioning Architect:
- In the User name field, enter DecisioningArchitect.
- In the Password field, enter rules.
- In the navigation pane of Customer Decision Hub, click Content > Actions.
- Locate and open the Premier Rewards card action.
- Click Check out to make changes.
- Click the Treatments tab to add a new treatment.
- On the Treatments tab, click Add channel > Outbound > Email to add a new email treatment.
- In the Configure Email Treatment window, click Standard card email to open the treatment.
- Click Save as to save a copy of the Standard card email treatment.
- Modify the name and short description to read Premier Rewards card email.
- Click Create and open.
2 Configure the copied treatment
- In the Details tab, in the Keycode field, enter PREMIERREWARDSEMAIL.
- In the Content tab, in the template preview pane on the left, click the header details content area to modify the header content. On the right, the editor pane shows the content in editable format.
- In the Editor pane on the right, modify the content as, Receive 24/7 personal service and more.
- In the Content tab, in the template preview pane on the left, click the offer details content area to modify the offer content. On the right, the editor pane shows the content in editable format.
- In the Editor pane on the right, double-click the image to open the image properties.
- Modify the image properties as follows:
- In the URL field, enter https://artifacts.pegaenablement.com/images/PremierRewardsSM.png.
- In the Alternative Text field, enter U+ Bank Premier Rewards card.
- Click OK.
- Modify the email content as follows:

- Earn 5% cash back at BioFresh Foods, Market, 2% cash back at restaurants, gas stations and drugstores.
- 1% on all other purchases.
- Plus, enjoy 24/7 personal service.
Note: Leave the rest of the email content as is. - In case you have copy-pasted the treatment details, select all the text and click on the Tx to remove the formatting.
Note: In this challenge, we are showcasing how to use Pega's HTML editor to create an email treatment. In project implementations, you could also use a third-party HTML editor such as Dreamweaver to create the contents of your email treatment and import it as HTML content.
- Click Check in to save the changes made to the treatment.
- Close the email treatment.
3 Add the email treatment to Premier Rewards card
- Close the two opened treatments and return to the Premier Rewards card action, Treatments tab.
- Refresh the Configure Email Treatment window.
- To the right of the Premier Rewards card email treatment, click Add to add the treatment to the action.
- Click Apply to confirm the treatment selection and close the window. The treatment is now added to the action.
- In the Email section, ensure that the email treatment is enabled.
- Click Check in to save the changes to the action. Provide a suitable check-in comment when prompted. For example, Email treatment added.
Confirm your work
- Test the new email Treatment with [email protected] as the recipient.
- In the Premier Rewards card action, on the Treatments tab, click the Premier Rewards card email treatment to open the email offer.
- Click Check out.
- Click the Test email tab.
- In the To section, click the Add icon to add a new test recipient.
- In the text box field, enter [email protected].
- In the Subject section, enter the subject as This is a test message.
- Click Send test email. A message is displayed when the email is sent successfully.
- In the browser tab where you accessed your Pega Academy exercise system, click Application Switcher > Web Email.
- Login to the Citadel server (using the following credentials):
- In the User name field, enter [email protected].
- In the Password field, enter customer1.
Note: You can skip steps 2 and 3 if you are logged in to the Citadel server.
- On the left, click Mail to open the mailbox and access the received emails.
- Click on the first email and check the content.
Note: Notice that none of the attribute placeholders are populated when you manually type in the recipient's email address. This includes the subject of the email as well. You can also test the functionality of the Apply now button in the body of the email.
- Click on the first email and check the content.
- Test the new email treatment with the StephenGold seed list as the recipient.
- Access Pega Customer Decision Hub and open the Premier Rewards card email treatment.
- Click the Test email tab.
- In the To section, select Seed List.
- Select StephenGold as the seed list.
- Click Send test email. A message is displayed when the email is sent successfully.
- Open the email client.
- Open the mailbox and open the newly received email.
Note: The actual attribute information is displayed.
- In the Customer Decision Hub portal, click Check in to save the changes made to the treatment.
