Generating a Case Type using Pega GenAI Autopilot

Scenario

U+ Bank wants to allow customers to manage their checking accounts, savings accounts, and credit cards with a Pega Platform™ application, U+ Personal Banking Account Management. You, an application developer, have been tasked with building a Case Type for the application with a Case Life Cycle, basic Data Model, and relevant Personas by using Pega GenAI™ Autopilot.

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Create the Case Type, Case Life Cycle, and Data Model

Create a new Case Type for the application with a Case Life Cycle and basic Data Model by using Autopilot.

Note: Due to variation in the suggestions proposed by Pega GenAI Autopilot, the details of the application created in the challenge could differ from the images associated with each Detailed task.

Task 2: Add Data Records to a data object

Review a data object created with the Case Type Data Model in Task 1, and add sample Data Records to the Account options data object by using Autopilot.

Task 3: Create a new Persona

Create a new Persona for account holders by using Autopilot.

The following table provides the credentials you need to complete the challenge:

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Initialization may take up to 5 minutes so please be patient.

Detailed Tasks

1 Generate the Case Type, Case Life Cycle, and Data Model

  1. Log in as an Application Developer:
    1. In the User name field, enter author@uplusbank.
    2. In the Password field, enter rules.
  2. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case Types to generate a new Case Type.

  3. Click New to create a new Case Type.

  4. In Create Case Type dialog box, select one of the Autopilot suggestions to populate the Create Case Type field.
    Tip: You can also enter a custom Case Type name in the Name field.
  5. In Build Life Cycle and Data Model? section, select Use Autopilot to suggest a life cycle and data model.

  6. Click Next.
    Note: In the current environment, this process can take a few minutes until the system connects to the Pega GenAI provider.
  7. In Add stages and steps – Update Account Details dialog box, review the Stages and Steps generated by AI.

    Tip: At this point in the Case Type creation process, you can review and modify the Autopilot recommendations for Stages and Steps to match the workflow defined by your project stakeholders.
  8. Click Next.
  9. In the Review Autopilot suggested fields for Updated Account Details dialog box, review the fields generated by Autopilot.

  10. For a proposed field with a Type of Embedded Data, click View folder contents to review fields proposed for the data object. Click Submit to close the Data Object dialog box.

  11. Click Submit to create the Case Type.
    Note: In the current environment, this can take several minutes. You many need to refresh the instance to complete the Case Type creation process.
  12. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case Types to see the updated list of Case Types.
  13. Click the name of the newly added Case Type. In this example, click Update Account Details.

  14. On the Workflow tab, review the defined Case Life Cycle.

  15. To review the Case Type Data Model, click Data Model tab.

  16. In the upper-right corner of App Studio, click Save.

2 Review Data objects and generate Data Records

  1. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Data to display a list of data objects in the application.

  2. Click the Data Object you reviewed in Task 1, Step 10. In this example, click Transaction.

  3. Review the fields populated by Autopilot for the Transaction data object.

  4. Click Back to previous page to return to the list of data objects.
  5. Click Account options.

  6. In the Account options data object menu, click the Records tab.

  7. Click Generate sample data with Autopilot to generate sample Data Records.
  8. In the Number of sample records field, enter the number of sample records that you want Autopilot to create.

  9. Click Submit.
    Note: In the current environment, this can take a few minutes. Wait until you see the generated Data Records.
  10. Review the Data Records.

  11. Click Save to commit the Data Records to the Account options data object.

3 Create a new Persona

  1. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Users > User management to view the list of Personas affiliated with the Account Management application.

  2. Click Add to create a new Persona.

  3. In New Persona dialog box, use the Autopilot suggestions to select the Persona name and avatar.

    Tip: You can also enter a custom Persona Name and Description in the respective fields.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Click Save to save the Persona to the application.
  6. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case Types.
  7. Click the Case Type created in Task 1. In this example, click Update Account Details.
  8. Under the Create Stage, In the Personas & Channels section of the Case Life Cycle, click PERSONA to add the newly created Persona.

  10. Click Save to save the Persona to the Case Life Cycle.
