Draft mode

When you create a Case Type in App Studio, by default all Processes you configure are created in draft mode. Draft mode allows you to quickly run the Case Type to check the run-time behavior even with incomplete configurations. For example, creating a Step without configuring the View generates an error that is visible on the Case Life Cycle, but you can still run the Case Type.

Turn off draft mode

Once Processes are completed, before an application can be released to production, draft mode must be turned off on all Process flows. Failure to do so results in a guardrail violation. Guardrails are application design best practices that help reduce the risk of introducing issues. Guardrail violations can be ignored during development, but must be resolved prior to production release.

Review Case Type errors

App Studio displays a list of errors in your Case Type that you must resolve before draft mode is automatically turned off. You can only manually turn off draft mode from Dev Studio. When you save a Case Type in App Studio, Pega Platform automatically switches off draft mode for processes that do not contain configuration issues.
