Building an application with Blueprint

Use the  technical documentation linked in the Journey map above to complete the assigned task. The technical documentation might have more information than you need to complete the task.

Acceptance criteria

• Your Blueprint Dashboard contains a GoGoRoad application that includes an Assistance Request Case Type.
• Both the GoGoRoad Blueprint file and GoGoRoad PDF Document are downloaded to your local machine.

Directions

1. Log in as an Application Developer.
   1. In the Username field, enter author@gogoroad.
   2. In the Password field, enter pega123!.
2. From the header of Dev Studio, click Switch studio > App Studio.
   
   Note: Close the dialog boxes that display on the new instance of Pega Platform.
3. In the header of App Studio, click Application > New application.
4. In the What type of Application do you want to build? dialog box, click Create a Blueprint.
   
   Tip: The Blueprint Import Module provides the New Application wizard that guides you through the process of creating a new Pega Platform™ application from a Blueprint. When new features are introduced in Pega Blueprint™, you must update the Blueprint Import Module to ensure that the New Application wizard in Pega Platform creates the corresponding assets when you import a Blueprint. When an update of the Blueprint Import Module is available, Pega Platform displays a notification in the New Application wizard with a link to automatically install the latest release. For more information, see Blueprint Import Module.
   Note: This challenge instance has been updated with the latest the Blueprint Import Module.
5. On the Pega Blueprint web page, click Build a Blueprint.
   
     
6. On the My Blueprint Dashboard web page, click Create a Blueprint.

   

7. In the Let's Blueprint page, complete the details:
   1. In the Which industry is your application for? list, select Other. Then click Next.
8. Complete the Share more about your application page using the following information, then click Generate.
   • Application purpose: GoGoRoad
   • Functional description: The GoGoRoad application will model the Assistance Request workflow in a single case type. The Assistance Request Case Type consists of four stages:
     In the first stage, a customer contact's GoGoRoad's Customer Service department to request roadside assistance for their vehicle. The Customer Service representative (CSR) identifies the following information: the type of service requested, the customer's personal information, the location of the service, and the vehicle information. The CSR also collects the customer's Payment information.
     In the second stage, a Manager verifies the service request and confirms the customer is enrolled with GoGoRoad.
     In the third stage, the CSR dispatches a service provider.
     In the final stage, the CSR reviews the services provided and the customer is sent an email invoice.
   • Organization name: GoGoRoad
9. Confirm that the Workflows, Workflow Details, Data & Integrations, and Personas match the description of the intended application.
10. Click Download PDF.
11. Save the Blueprint as a PDF file to a location on your device where it is accessible.
12. Click Download Blueprint.

13. Save the Blueprint file to a location on your device where it is accessible.
