Application and production Rulesets
A Ruleset is a container that groups related Rules together. It acts like a version-controlled package where you define, organize, and manage Rules that implement the behavior and logic of your application.
Application Rulesets
Application Rulesets are containers that hold the Rules defining a Pega application's behavior. They organize related Rules into logical units to support development, testing, and deployment. The New Application wizard creates the initial Application Rulesets when the application is generated. By default, these include two Rulesets for the application and two organizational Rulesets. Add additional Rulesets for reusable functionality that you want to migrate to other applications.
Match the numbers to the following image to learn more about application Rulesets:
- Application Rulesets: Application Rulesets HRAppsV2 and HRAppsV2Int contain application configuration.
- Organizational Rulesets: Organizational Rulesets TGB and TGBInt contain reusable organizational assets, such as data structures.
- CreditCheck: The Application wizard creates other Rulesets that serve different purposes. For example, the CreditCheck Ruleset contains the assets for a connector that performs a background check.
Production Rulesets
Production Rulesets are special Rulesets that allow certain types of Rules to be updated directly in a production environment, without needing to redeploy the application. Production Rulesets are commonly used for delegated Rules. However, production Rulesets can apply to any use case that requires Rules to be updated in a production environment. Operators have the Production Ruleset listed in their Access Group to gain access. Production Rulesets have at least one unlocked Ruleset version in the production environment.
