Creating and linking a Microsoft Teams chat

With the integration of Microsoft Teams chat into Pega Sales Automation™, sales teams can collaborate more efficiently without switching between applications. You can create a Microsoft Teams chat directly from accounts, contacts, and opportunities in Pega Sales Automation. The system automatically adds relevant users and includes a bot that updates the conversation with key changes.

You can also link an existing Microsoft Teams chat to a Case. After linking, you access and engage in the conversation directly from the Pega Sales Automation interface. All communication remains contextual, centralized, and accessible throughout the sales cycle.

This demonstration shows you how to create and link a Microsoft Teams chat directly from a Pega Sales Automation opportunity.

Acme's sales team wants to use Microsoft Teams chat integration in Pega Sales Automation to collaborate on sales opportunities. The team wants to share real-time updates and coordinate efforts directly in Microsoft Teams chat from Pega Sales Automation without switching between applications to accelerate deal closure.

As a sales representative, you must create and link a Microsoft Teams chat for the sales opportunity.

To implement the business scenario, in the navigation of Pega Sales Automation pane, click Opportunities, and then select the opportunity for which you want to start a new chat.

In the opportunity, click Actions, and then select Create new MS Teams Chat to create a chat.

Now, enter the topic of the chat in the Chat topic field. For example, Recap of Acme's Ultra 265 Demo Session. Next, specify the users that you want to include in the chat.

Remove any unnecessary users from the Followers section. By default, the system populates the Followers section with the followers of the associated Case.

Review the Sales team members section, and then remove any unnecessary sales members. By default, the Sales team members section includes the sales team members of the associated Case.

If required, in the Additional users section, you can add more participants by clicking Add user. Click Submit to create a new chat in Microsoft Teams. During creation, the system adds the creator of the chat, the Pega Sales Automation bot, and verifies all additional users. If the user has a Microsoft Teams account, the system adds them to the chat.

After creating the MS teams chat, link it to the opportunity to access and use the chat directly from the Pega Sales Automation application.

In the opportunity window, click Actions, and then select Link to MS Teams Chat.

Click Add chat, and then select the Recap of Acme's Ultra 265 Demo Session chat to link to the opportunity.

Click Submit, and then verify that the new chat is displayed in the Case window on the MS Teams tab.

Now, sign in to the MS Teams chat directly from Pega Sales Automation, and then refresh the page to share updates and provide actionable insights to improve deal closure.

You can make some quick edits to the opportunity. For example, adjust the amount to $7,500 and submit the changes. Refresh the page to confirm that the update is shown in Teams chat. You can continue to share the updates as well.

Log in into the MS Teams chat to confirm that the updates are automatically posted in the Microsoft team space.

Now you can add Pega Sales Automation Cases to Microsoft Teams to view their details directly on the Teams tabs. After adding a Case, you can access the Case details tab until you remove it.

For example, create a new SA tab for the opportunity in the Teams chat by clicking Add a tab.

In the dialog box, select the Pega Sales Automation application. In the Enter a tab name field, enter SA Tab, and then click Save.

The system creates a new tab for the Pega Sales Automation opportunity.

In the Select a case to open dialog box, in the Case type list, select the type of Cases that you want to open. In this case, select Opportunity. In the Case list, select the Case that you want to view. Select Ultra 265 Surveillance KIT for Acme Software.

Click Submit to view the Case details.
