Automation package management
In Pega Robot Manager™, you can quickly and easily manage changes in Automation packages for your organization. When you deploy a robotic Automation project using Pega Robot Studio, the resulting Automation package is published to Robot Manager. To manage Automation packages effectively, ensure you know the various options.
After publishing an Automation package from Pega Robot Studio to Robot Manager, you have several out-of-the-box options in the portal to manage your Automation package. The following table contains some available options for managing Automation packages in Robot Manager:

Management of packages on the detail page
On the package details page, you can view and manage the details of each package assignment group associated with the package. For more information about how to view package details, see View package details.
After navigating to the Package details page, the menu provides additional package management options. Click the + to learn more about each process in the Actions Menu.
In addition to the options in the menu, you can remove a package version from an assignment group from the details page. For more information on removing a package version, see Remove a package version.
Management of package assignment groups
In Robot Manager, you create and update package assignment groups to group the assignments for each package version. Each package assignment group contains an assigned package version that can be one of the following types:
- Signed
- Encrypted
- Both signed and encrypted
- Neither signed nor encrypted
Administrators associate each package version with one or more package assignment groups, as shown in the following figure:

Management of assignments in a package assignment group
Package assignment groups can contain assignments from work groups, departments, users, or any combination of the three. When you assign resources to a package assignment group, you are creating a package assignment.
For example, users can inherit packages from a package assignment group assigned to their departments. However, administrators can assign package assignment groups and related package versions directly to those users. If you assign multiple packages to users, they can select which package they want to use when they log in to their workstations. For more information about viewing and updating package assignments, see Viewing package assignments and Updating package assignments.
