Pega Process Mining provides multiple ways for you to create Insights and Insight reports. This use case presents one of many ways to work with Insights. In this use case, you create an Insight and a report for the Insight at the same time.

Use case: Creating an Insight and report

For this use case, you are focused on finding ways to reduce the time to serve the customer in the Chicago operations branch. In Benchmarking, you observe that the Average Duration for the Chicago location to move a Case from Assigned to Dispatched is unusually high, especially compared to New York. To capture this observation, you click the Insights icon on the Benchmarking page, as shown in the following figure:
The Benchmarking page displays the Insights icon, which looks like a light bulb, at the top of the middle pane.

Clicking the Insight icon opens the Insight Creation dialog box, where you name (title) and describe the Insight. The left pane displays the Insight image, which is a snapshot of what you were viewing when you clicked the Insight icon. This snapshot reflects the data that is based on any filters or complexity settings that you applied:
In the Insight Creation dialog box, a title and description include observations about the Chicago location.
Naming and describing the Insight
To access this Insight later in the application, you must either add the Insight to an Insights report or create an Insights report and then add the Insight to the new report. For this use case, you want to create a report focused on Chicago, so you click Create a new Insights report. The dialog box displays the Insights report name field, and you name the report Chicago.

You can save this Insight to multiple reports, but for now, you only want to save it to the Chicago report. After verifying that the Insight is associated with the report that you want, click Save in the dialog box:
