Data pull to access the Select Action dialog box
Pega Robot Studio streamlines automation building by providing quick access to necessary functions from the automation surface. When working with data links, you can open the Select Action dialog box to access all properties, methods, and events that are correlated with a particular output data type. This streamlined process also provides a way to keep the automation clean and legible by reducing the number of data links. The following image shows how to open the dialog box from the design block on the automation surface:
Child block
When adding a new block by pulling from an output data port, this new block becomes a child to the original block. The child block is bound to the parent design block from which it was derived.
For example, a bank branch in Boston provides a complaint form that automatically sets up a record in the system. Before the ticket is open, an automation checks if the claimant is located in Boston; if not, it redirects the complaint to the proper branch. An engineer pulls the output data port and selects the Equals method from the Select Action dialog box to add the verification to the automation.
