Enabling expert approval
To enable Expert approval for taxonomy categories in your Pega Knowledge™ application, perform the steps described in this topic.
Update the configuration set
To update the appropriate configuration set, you must use an operator with access to infinity studio:
- In the header of Infinity studio, click Application menu > Settings > Configurations.
- Locate the Knowledge Management - Constellation configuration set.
- Next to Enable expert approval, click Edit this setting.
- Set the Default value to True, then click Submit.
- You have now enabled expert approval for the KM application.
Optional: the other configuration you can update as part of this configuration set, Enable update publish settings, allows users with the Approver or Publisher role to change the publishing settings of knowledge articles before approving or publishing them.
Enable expert approval on a new or existing category
From the KM portal, a user with the Taxonomy Manager role can create new or update existing taxonomy categories in order to enable expert approval. Perform these steps:
- In the navigation pane of Pega Knowledge, click Taxonomy.
- In the upper right side, click Add category. If you are editing an existing category, click Actions > Edit category instead of Add category.
- In the Category name field, enter Articles requiring expert approval. If you are editing an existing category, this step is not mandatory.
- In the Description field, enter Taxonomy category for articles that contain sensitive information and require expert approval. If you are editing an existing category, this step is not mandatory.
- In the Category expert type list, select an option between User, Work queue or Team.
- Select the Expert User, Work queue or Team respectively, depending on what option you chose at step 5.
- Click Submit.
You have now enabled expert approval for that Taxonomy category.
