Entities in Pega Government Platform
Pega Government Platform™ provides you with a robust public sector centric data model, features, and components that users can use to capture and manage information, and search and view the details of various entities such as person, business, vehicle, facility, item, and household that are widely used across government agencies. The entity models can be used as is, but as a best practice, extend the models according to your business needs.
Person
Government agencies often need to capture details of various constituents/citizens, known as Person entities, as part of the application intake process of various business use cases.
Pega Government Platform comes with the following features for person entities:
- Person data model: Contains generic properties and fields that help capture the information of a person/citizen.
- Reusable components: Leverage to capture the basic information of a person, detailed information of a person, manage the information and search and view all the details.
- Manage Entity: Various components can be used to manage information such as education, experience, and training associated with any person entity.
- Duplicate check: The system identifies duplicate entities.
- Multiple person entries: For business requirements, multiple person entities can also be added as part of a single step in a case type by using the Manage multiple persons flow component.
Business
There is always a business need to capture the details of Business entities in government application intake processes.
Pega Government Platform comes with the following features for business entities:
- Business data model: Contains all the properties related to Business entities, branches, employees, and so on.
- Reusable components: Useful to capture business-related information, manage the information, and search and view capabilities.
- Approval: Business entity creation goes through an approval stage by either the supervisor or the manager.
- Duplicate check: The system identifies duplicate entities.
Facility
Government agency intake applications often capture details about entities such as hospitals, storage facilities, schools, and garages. These entities are represented in Pega Government Platform as a Facility.
Pega Government Platform comes with the following features for facility entities:
- Facility data model: Contains properties that define a facility.
- Reusable components: Allows you to capture and manage information about facility entities.
Based on your business needs, you can easily extend the data model at the implementation layer and use it for additional processing.
Vehicle
Pega Government Platform includes the following features for vehicle entities:
- Vehicle data model: Contains all the data fields and properties such as model, make, registration number, owner details, ownership details, and other details related to vehicle entities.
- Reusable components: Useful to manage vehicle information.
- Duplicate check: The system helps identify duplicate vehicle entities.
Household
Household is the most important entity for various applications such as grants, the census, and other government applications.
Pega Government Platform provides a data model that includes all the household-related information and members' information that implementation teams can easily extend.
When existing household members are updated, a new household is created with updated member details by inactivating the existing household.
Item
Government agencies often need to capture and manage information about material goods such as furnishings, equipment, and tools. In Pega Government Platform, these goods are "items," and you can capture information in an Item entity.
Pega Government Platform comes with the following features for Item entities:
- Item data model: Contains all the data fields and properties such as category, name, serial number, type, and other details that relate to the Item entities.
- Reusable components: Useful to capture item-related information, manage the data, and search and view actions.
- Duplicate check: The system identifies duplicate entities.
Entity components
Pega Government Platform provides components with which users can capture, view, and manage information related to various entities to work with the data model entities.
Manage Business
- With this component, you can capture the details of any business entity as part of intake in any case and persist the data to the system of record (SOR).
- This component has a few configurable parameters. The component can search and fetch the details of the existing business entities based on the values of these parameters.
Manage Person with complete details
- Using this component, you can create, update, and view any person entity from the SOR. The component captures and deals with all properties of the person entity as part of intake in any case. The component also persists the data to the SOR.
- By passing the relevant values to the configurable parameters of this component, you can fetch the details of any existing person from the SOR.
Audit history for entities
Pega Government Platform includes audit history and field-level auditing for necessary fields for all entities in the application:
- The Audit History section displays the sequence of actions that occur on the entity. The system displays the details of the user who performs an action and the time when users create or update the entity. The history also shows the information about the cases in which users add or update the entity details.
- The field-level audit of an entity shows the previous and current values of a property along with time and user details.
You can enable history and field-level auditing for entities by setting the Entity audit configuration set to true in App Studio.
