Merging application-level test coverage reports

After generating application-level test coverage reports for every application in your system and in your application stack, you can merge the most recent test coverage reports of each of these applications into a single report. Merging the reports helps you gain a consolidated view of test coverage data for all your top-level or built-on applications. This is especially helpful when multiple development teams work on a single base application by building multiple built-on development applications on top of the base application.

Ensure that the following conditions are satisfied before generating a merged test coverage report:

  • The operator ID has the pzStartOrStopMasterAppRuleCoverage privilege.
  • There is at least one application-level test coverage report for any application in your system or for a built-on application in your current application stack.

To merge application-level test coverage reports, perform the following steps:

  1. Switch to the main application that you want to use as the baseline for the merged test coverage report.
  2. In Dev Studio, click Configure > Application > Quality > Test coverage.
  3. Click the Application level tab.
  4. In the Coverage history section, click Merge reports.
  5. Enter a title for the merged report, and then click Next.
  6. In the list of the most recent reports shown, select the reports that you want to include in the merged report, and then click Create, as shown in the following image:
The Create option that you click after selecting reports to include from the list of the most recent reports in the merged report.
Note: The application that you logged in to is treated as the baseline application for the merged test coverage report and is selected by default.
  7. In the confirmation dialog box, click Yes
  8. Review the merged report data by clicking Show report on the latest record in the Coverage history section.
Note: Dev Studio automatically adds MRG_ prefix to every merged report to differentiate them from standard application-level test coverage reports.
