Pega Process Mining offers you several options to conveniently analyze data from various perspectives. For example, you can check when exactly events cause problems in your process by instantaneously retrieving a heatmap that shows daily and hourly distribution of the events.

Metrics

Metrics are available on the Dashboard tab, in the Metrics section of the navigation bar. An icon next to each metric identifies the column type, such as timestamp and numeric. To the right of these metrics, a C indicates that these columns are classified as Case metrics.
Metrics on the navigation bar include icons to define the column type, such as a pound symbol for numerical. The C next to each column indicates that these are Case metrics.

By default, the system offers several out-of-the-box options that, for example, provide information about events distribution over time, or give you a chance to filter cases by length.
NOTE: Each metric includes clickable graphs that you can use to drill down to detailed information.
The following figure shows the Case End Timestamp metric, which provides an interactive heatmap, with a distribution of events over time:

Main columns

Apart from viewing predefined analyses of the entire dataset, you can also scrutinize certain columns. The Main columns section lists the columns that you selected during View creation. The following figure shows an example of Main columns:
Main columns is expanded to show several Event columns, including Resource, Cost, Case ID, Timestamp, and Activity.
Example of Main columns

As with the Metrics, an icon next to each column indicates the type of attribute, including free text, categoric, numeric, timestamp, and duration (interval). In the figure above, an E indicates that these metrics are event metrics.

Columns provide many opportunities to apply very specific filters. For example, in the following figure, the selected Activity column provides a way to filter by how often an activity occurs. In this example, the filter limits the data to Cases that failed multiple times (between 2 and 4 times) .

The following figure from the Activity column shows the pie chart. You can hover over parts of the chart to view metrics by activity or you can click a piece of the pie chart to apply an activity filter to the View. For example, clicking the Dispatched activity applies a filter to the View so that it only includes Cases that contain the Dispatched activity.

Other columns

The Other columns section shows all the remaining columns of the dataset. The analysis and visualizations can vary depending on the column type.

For example, in the following figure, the selected City Description column is a free-text column type and displays an interactive word cloud, bubble overview, and horizontal bar graph.
The City Description column displays a word cloud, bubble overview, and horizontal bar overview of the free text associated with this column.
