New Pega Platform applications
Creating a new application on the Pega Platform™ starts with defining a clear design vision. Pega Blueprint provides a collaborative workspace that helps teams quickly align, capture business requirements, and transform application ideas into reusable designs, moving from concept to initial application structure within hours by aligning stakeholders early and reducing upfront design effort.
Pega Blueprint overview
Pega Blueprint is a SaaS tool that accelerates application design using generative AI and industry best practices. It suggests templates and generates tailored designs, including Case Types, Case Life Cycles, Data Models, data objects, and Personas. By applying industry best practices and generative AI, Blueprint enables teams to rapidly and collaboratively design new applications and Case Types without requiring a Pega instance or login.
Teams can define business goals collaboratively without a Pega instance or login. Designs are editable, shareable across the enterprise, and can be exported directly into Pega Platform to jumpstart development. This approach accelerates time to value by allowing teams to move ideas into Pega Platform quickly and begin development with a strong, shared foundation.
Blueprint complements App Studio by improving early-stage collaboration and enabling rapid development of functional applications.
Using Blueprint to create an application
To create a new application, use the New Application wizard in App Studio. You can choose from the following options:
- Build with an existing Blueprint
- Create your own Blueprint
To access it, in the navigation menu, click Application > New Application:
Building a new application from Blueprint provides a fast, collaborative approach. You describe business needs in plain language, and Pega GenAI generates suggested Case Types, Data Models, and Personas. This enables teams to design applications rapidly and collaboratively by expressing requirements in natural language and receiving AI-generated design suggestions. This accelerates prototyping, keeps business and IT teams aligned, and enables quick iteration and refinement, creating a streamlined design process that moves ideas to impact faster. Starting with Blueprint helps organizations turn workflows into reusable designs used across channels, supporting rapid iteration and broader adoption.
Reusing application designs
Applications can be saved as templates to save time and maintain consistency. Templates allow other users to create new applications that inherit existing logic, data, and Personas. Reusable Blueprint templates help organizations scale application development by enabling teams to build on proven designs instead of starting from scratch.
