NOTE: To select a single day, click the date twice to indicate that the start date and the end date are the same.

Viewing opportunities

The Opportunities page displays opportunity types and individual opportunities that fall within the selected date range and that also meet any additional applied filters. The left pane lists the opportunity types and displays a total annualized time metric for each type. The total annualized time metric projects the amount of time associated with the opportunity type over a year, if the behavior continues without intervention.

Left pane lists opportunity types that fall within the selected date range and meet any other filter criteria, sorted by highest total annualized time to lowest.

Opportunities types

In the following figure, within the selected March 2 to March 31 date range, the total annualized time for all opportunity types is 35 years and 4 days. After the All entry, the list shows the opportunity types with the highest total annualized time first. This descending order helps you to quickly see where interventions might have the most impact. In the following figure, the Excessive Idle Time opportunity type tops the list with a total annualized time of 17 years and 198 days. This annualized time is about twice the amount of Legacy System Use, which is next in the list at 8 years and 295 days.

The All entry shows the total annualized time for all opportunities followed by annualized time in descending order for each opportunity type.

Annualized time provides clues to intervention impact

For a description of each type of opportunity, see Opportunity types.

The right pane provides the following additional metrics about each individual opportunity:

Total Annualized Time
The projected total time that associates would spend performing this task pattern across a full year if the behavior continues without intervention. The system calculates this metric by scaling the data for the selected calendar date or date range to 365 days. Total annualized time is a headline ROI figure that provides the annual hours available to recover through intervention, such as automation.
Total Time
The cumulative time that associates spent completing this specific task pattern during the selected date or date range. This metric represents the raw time at stake, or the portion of work that intervention or automation could eliminate.
Associates
The number of distinct associates (data collectors) who performed this task pattern during the selected date or date range. A high count signals widespread impact across your workforce. A low count with high total time suggests a concentration risk, where a few people carry a disproportionate amount of work.
Instances
The number of times associates completed this task pattern during the selected date or date range. Combining Instances with Total Time reveals the average cost by occurrence. High instance counts with even modest time by occurrence compound into large annualized savings, which suggests that the task pattern is a prime candidate for automation.

The following figure shows where you can find these metrics for each opportunity:

Each opportunity lists total annualized time, total time, number of associates, and number of instances.
