Out-of-the-box case utility widgets configuration

The default case utility widgets

The Utilities pane is rendered as an expandable/collapsible panel on the right side of the UI when a user views a case. The pane contains widgets that support the current case context and is preconfigured to include the following widgets:

Name Description
Files & Documents Allows end-users to manage attachments on the case, including new or existing rich text documents created within Pega Platform™, local files, and URLs
Followers Allows end-users to manage the case followers.
Stakeholders Allows end-users to manage the case stakeholders.

In the following video, click the play button to learn more about the utility pane widgets.

The Tags utility widget

The Tags utility widget is used for ad hoc tagging of case instances. Instead of configuring the tags utility widget in pyCaseMainInner, developers enable or disable tagging in the Collaboration tab of the case type settings. Once enabled, you can add suggested tags from the Collaboration tab and the Tags utility widget automatically renders below the other widgets in the case utility panel.

Tip: Use Manage tags to add new or suggested tags to the case.

In the center of the following image, slide the vertical line to compare the Tags utility widget configuration to the Tags utility widget in a case at runtime.
