Pega Blueprint inputs and artifacts

The Designing the application is a hands-on project experience: you will design a U+Bank loan-origination application in Pega Blueprint™, from creation all the way to Preview. The goal is fluency with the tool and confidence in the work, not a tour of features.

What you will be using: Pega Blueprint

At the heart of the experience is Pega Blueprint, a cloud-hosted AI-powered design tool that helps teams translate business inputs into a structured, import-ready application design. Rather than fully automating design, Blueprint enables rapid co-creation and iterative refinement, where Solution Designers and stakeholders shape and validate the solution together.

Those inputs can include:

  • Process descriptions and business rules
  • Legacy UI screenshots or workflow diagrams
  • Functional requirements and use case documents
  • Stakeholder conversations captured through collaborative, AI-facilitated workshops

The quality of the generated design depends in part on the quality of these inputs, so collaboration and refinement matter. From these, Blueprint generates an initial set of design artifacts that you iteratively refine into a high-fidelity Blueprint:

  • Case Type workflows represent the end-to-end lifecycle of each business process.
  • Case Data Models contains the fields and Data Objects that underpin each Case Type.
  • Personas identify the distinct user groups who participate in each workflow.
  • Data & Integrations identifies internal and external systems of record and the Data Objects they own.
  • Blueprint Preview provides a live representation of the designed application for stakeholder validation.

The Blueprint acts as the Golden Thread throughout delivery by keeping the design aligned with business intent from the first idea through implementation.

Note: Blueprint Preview is a representation of the application design, not a running Pega Infinity™ application. It visualizes the intended solution and user interactions but does not execute business logic or integrations.  It provides a representation of the design before construction begins.
