Pega GenAI product suite

Pega GenAI™ features integrate throughout Pega Platform™ to accelerate early-stage application design, enhance low-code development, and deliver intelligent, context-aware assistance to end users at run time. AI-assisted application Blueprints, developer guidance, in-process coaching, and knowledge support enable faster delivery, improve quality, and create more adaptive user experiences.

As a Lead System Architect (LSA), you must plan carefully to adopt Pega GenAI successfully. Enable, govern, and align the right features with organizational objectives to apply generative AI responsibly and deliver measurable outcomes across both build-time and run-time scenarios.

Design-time acceleration with Pega GenAI

To achieve these outcomes, Pega GenAI includes powerful design-time tools that help accelerate application planning and development. These tools help teams move quickly from business intent to structured solutions while maintaining consistency and quality.

Pega Blueprint

Pega Blueprint™ accelerates application planning and ideation by helping teams move from business intent to a structured solution Blueprint quickly and consistently. It uses generative AI to transform natural-language business input into a structured application Blueprint. Based on the application description, Blueprint suggests Case Types, Case Life Cycles, business rules, Data Objects, and Personas to provide a strong starting point for solution design and development. For more information, see Pega GenAI Blueprint.

Pega GenAI Autopilot

Pega GenAI Autopilot™ provides AI-assisted guidance during application development in App Studio. It offers contextual explanations, suggestions, and resources when you create or modify application assets such as Case Types, Steps, Data Types, Views, and integrations. You can also interact with Autopilot in a contextual pane that opens within your current workspace. Autopilot accelerates development by reducing time spent searching documentation and guiding developers through configuration decisions. For more information, see Pega GenAI Autopilot in application development.

Autopilot also helps streamline the creation of automated testing for Case Types and applications. For more information, see Creating automated tests for Case Types and applications.

Run-time acceleration with Pega GenAI

Pega GenAI enhances run-time experiences by providing intelligent, context-aware tools that guide users, streamline workflows, and deliver actionable insights during Case processing. They help users work more efficiently, adapt to unexpected scenarios, and access the information they need without leaving their current context.

Pega GenAI Coach

At run time, Pega GenAI Coach™ acts as an intelligent, context-aware mentor for end users as they work on Cases and Tasks. Coach summarizes Case progress, highlights recent changes, and provides contextual guidance to help users complete work efficiently. Configure Pega GenAI Coach to align with your organization’s objectives and employee needs. For more information, see Providing guided conversations with Coach.

Pega GenAI ad hoc Cases

Users can begin an ad hoc Case when they encounter unexpected events that require additional processing. Pega GenAI suggests a workflow that users can modify to meet business requirements. Users can add or remove Steps, change routing options, adjust deadlines, and modify fields associated with Steps. The workflow can include the following types of Steps:

  • Assignment
  • Approve/Reject
  • Send email

Pega GenAI ad hoc Cases provide a solution when processing requirements exceed the initial Case Type setup, so complex workflows reach resolution without interruption. For more information, see  Creating ad hoc Cases with Pega GenAI.

Pega Knowledge Buddy

Pega GenAI Knowledge Buddy™ provides conversational, AI-powered access to enterprise and Pega knowledge sources in the application experience. It enables users to ask natural-language questions and receive responses from approved content. For more information, see Knowledge Buddy Integration.

Pega GenAI Analyze

Pega GenAI Analyze™ is a set of generative AI features that turns questions into actionable insights. It uses natural language to interact with your data and generate Insights, reports, and summaries. Use cases include chatting with data to generate Insights, creating interaction summaries in Pega Customer Service™, and producing on-demand briefings, talking points, and summaries in Pega Sales Automation™. For more information, see Generating insights using Pega GenAI.

Design-time and run-time acceleration with Pega GenAI

The following Pega GenAI features help achieve both design-time and run-time efficiency:

Pega GenAI Agent Rule

Pega GenAI Agent Rule accelerates Case processing by automating repetitive tasks and providing real-time support for Case workers. Agent Rules deliver a run-time conversational experience that users access to obtain guidance and information within a given context, such as a current Case or landing page.

Pega GenAI Agent Rules can also run the following predefined actions:

  • Call another Agent. For example, call an Agent that summarizes Case details.
  • Run an automated action. For example, run an Automation that changes the Case Stage.
  • Use an integration with a Knowledge Buddy.
  • Start a Case. For example, when processing an expense review Case Type, a Case worker might ask an Agent to begin a Case to submit a suspicious amount on the expense.
  • Retrieve information from a Data Page. For example, in a Case to review expenses, retrieve the list of recent spending.
  • Run a Flow Action. For example, run a Flow Action that automatically adjusts the Service-Level Agreement.

You configure contextual actions for Pega GenAI Agent in a low-code manner by creating and referencing Tool Rules. For more information, see Automating work by running an Agent.

Pega GenAI Connect Rule

With GenAI Connect Rules, you can integrate custom generative AI functionality into your workflows by using a low-code approach. These Rules connect to large language models with custom prompts tailored to specific business needs.

At run time, these connectors reduce the time required for Case resolution and minimize the risk of providing incorrect information. For example, configure a GenAI Connect Rule to process documents so that the system provides the data required for Case processing without manual user input. For more information, see Gen AI Connect Rules in application development.
