Scenario

Your company has set a sales target of USD 1 million for Q1 2025. Sales management has decided to set a quota of USD100,000 for each of the sales representatives. For this exercise, update the sales goal for Noah Smith.

Use the following credentials to log in to the exercise system:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Create time period for Q1 2025.

Task 2: Add the sales goal for Noah Smith.

Task 3: Confirm your work.

 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Detailed Tasks

1 Create time period for Q1 2025

  1. Log in to your exercise system as the sales operations user.
  2. In the left navigation menu, click Time periods. A list of defined Time Periods is displayed.
  3. Click Add time period. The Add record dialog is displayed.
  4. Enter the following information to add fiscal year 2025.
    1. Time Period type: FiscalYear
    2. Name: FY 2025
    3. Start date: 1/1/2025
    4. End date: 12/31/2025
    5. Select Active.
  5. Click Submit. FY 2025 is added to the Fiscal year list.
  6. Click Add time period. The Add record dialog is displayed.
  7. Enter the following information to add the first quarter to the fiscal year 2025.
    1. Time period type: Quarter
    2. Name: Q1
    3. Fiscal year: FY 2025
    4. Start date: 1/1/2025
    5. End date: 3/31/2025
    6. Select Active.
  8. Click Submit. Q 2025 is added to the Quarter list.

2 Add the sales goal for Noah Smith

  1. In the left navigation menu, click Sales goals. The Sales goals page is displayed.
  2. In the Owner field, select Noah Smith. The sales goals for Noah Smith are displayed.
  3. At the top of the list, click Add sales goal. The Create sales goal dialog opens.
  4. Enter the following information to add the sales goal for Q1 2025.
    1. Goal owner: Noah Smith
    2. Fiscal year: FY 2025
    3. Quarter: Q1
    4. Selling mode: B2B
    5. Goal type: Revenue
    6. Goal value: 100000
  5. Click Submit. The application displays Q1 for FY 2025 in the list on the Sales Goals page.

Confirm your work

  1. Log in to your exercise system as sales representative Noah Smith.
  2. Click Opportunities. The Opportunities page displays the Business opportunities tab.
  3. Click Add business opportunity. The Create Business opportunity dialog is displayed.
  4. Enter the following information to add the opportunity for Q1 2025.
    1. Name: NTT Communications Business Messaging
    2. Amount: 50000
    3. Close date: 3/31/2025
    4. Stage: Qualification
    5. Account: First Alert
    6. Owner: Noah Smith
    7. Forecast category: Commit
  5. Click Submit to add the opportunity.
  6. In the left navigation menu, click Forecast to display the forecast.
  7. In the filter section, set Year to FY 2025 and click Apply filter. Opportunities for 2025 are displayed.
  8. Verify that the Goal for Q1 2025 is USD100,000.
