Scenario

You have just joined Pega and want to familiarize yourself with Pega Sales Automation™ by exploring the Pega Sales Automation sample application.

The sample application introduces you to Susan Kendall, a manager. Susan's team includes Terry Masson, a top sales representative.

Use the following credentials to log in to the exercise system:

Role User name Password
Sales representative - Terry Masson Tmason rules
Sales manager - Susan Kendall Skendall rules

 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Initialization may take up to 5 minutes so please be patient.

Challenge Walkthrough

Detailed Tasks

1 Explore the Sales representative portal

  1. On the exercise system landing page, click Pega Infinity™ to log in as Sales Representative Terry Masson.
    1. In the User name field, enter Tmason.
    2. In the Password field, enter rules.
  2. Terry's home page shows Pulse messages, his Worklist, and any Next best actions, Upcoming appointments, and My followed items.
  3. On the left, from the Navigation panel, click Dashboards > Sales rep dashboard. Scroll down and observe the widgets on the sales representative dashboard.
  4. On the left, from the Navigation panel, click Leads. All the Business and Individual sales leads assigned to Terry Mason are displayed.
  5. Click the lead for Sara Connor. The lead record for Sara Connor is displayed. The lead page displays the Details for this lead. You can click Pulse, Activities and Tasks, and History to see more details about each of them respectively.
  6. On the left, from the Navigation panel, click Contacts. Terry Mason's contacts are displayed.
  7. Click the contact for John Brown. The contact record for John Brown is displayed.
  8. On the left, in the Contact record, click Associations to see the Associated contacts, accounts, and organizations.
  9. On the left, from the Navigation panel, click Opportunities. The sales opportunities for Terry are displayed as Business opportunities and Individual opportunities.
  10. Click the opportunity record for Ultra 265 Surveillance KIT for Acme Software to review the information stored for an opportunity and view the stages pipeline.
  11. In the top right corner, click Account and select Log off to log out of the sales representative portal.

2 Explore the Sales manager portal

  1. On the exercise system landing page, click Pega Infinity™ to log in as Sales Manager Sophia Anderson.
    1. In the User name field, enter Skendall.
    2. In the Password field, enter rules.
  2. Sophia's home page shows Pulse messages, her Worklist, Next Best Actions, Upcoming appointments, and My followed items.
  3. On the left, from the Navigation panel, click Dashboards > Sales manager dashboard. Scroll and observe the widgets on the sales manager's dashboard.
  4. On the left, from the Explorer panel, select Opportunities. All opportunities in Susan's territory are displayed. Note that Susan sees opportunities for all members of her team.
  5. In the top right corner, click Account and select Log off to log out of the sales manager portal.
