Scenario

Your business is currently selling to both consumers and businesses. The selling mode of the application is set to mixed mode. Going forward you are planning to focus on businesses (B2B) only.

You want to understand what impact the change from business-to-business and business-to-customer (B2B & B2C) to B2B has in the application user interface.

Use the following credentials to log in to the exercise system:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:

Task 1: Check current landing pages.

Task 2: Change the selling mode to B2B.

Task 3: Verify the change to landing pages.

 

You must initiate your own Pega instance to complete this Challenge.

Initialization may take up to 5 minutes so please be patient.

Detailed Tasks

1 Check current landing pages

  1. Log in to your exercise system as sales representative.
  2. On the left, from the Explorer panel, click Accounts and verify that the Business, Individual accounts are available. You can see tabs for each type of account.
  3. Click Opportunities and then choose the Individual Opportunities tab.
  4. On the top right, click + to add individual opportunity and verify that the Create Individual Opportunity dialog appears.
  5. Click Close to close the dialog.
  6. Click Leads > Individual leads.
  7. On the top right, click + to add individual lead and verify that the Create Individual Lead dialog appears.
  8. Click Close, and then Log off.

2 Change the selling mode to B2B

  1. Log in to your exercise environment as a sales operator.
  2. From the left navigation panel, click Administration > SA – Selling Mode.
  3. Select B2B from the list, and then click Save.

3 Verify the change to landing pages and create menu options

  1. Log in to your exercise system as the sales representative.
  2. On the left, from the Explorer panel, click Accounts and verify that the Individual accounts tab is no longer available.
  3. From the Explorer panel, click Opportunities and verify that the Individual opportunities tab is no longer available. All opportunities created are B2B.
  4. From the Explorer panel, click Leads and verify that the Individual leads tab is no longer available. All leads created are B2B.
    Note: As a sales operation, navigate to Toggle Settings and set the Selling mode to B2B_B2C for increased visibility.
