Validating release vehicle changes in BOE

This video explains how to test a release vehicle using the customer profile viewer and simulations in the Business Operations Environment.

U+ Bank wants to test its Quarter 1 release vehicle by using the Customer Profile Viewer and simulations.

To begin testing, log in to the Customer Decision Hub Portal as an NBA Designer. Launch the Customer Profile Viewer, and then search for a customer. Select the Next best actions tab, and click the Gear icon next to Include base application.

In the Artifacts inclusion dialog box, you have two options to test. You can test with the base application, which is the current production configuration, or the base application with specified release vehicle to test release vehicle changes along with the production configuration.

Select the release vehicle that you want to test. The list shows release vehicles that are not yet deployed to production.

Configure the Channel context, and Make a decision to observe how the release vehicle changes influence Action selection and arbitration for the selected customer. Notice that the customer receives both new offers in the release vehicle.

For broader testing, go to the Simulation landing page in the Customer Decision Hub Portal and create a new simulation. Use Distribution test or Decision funnel simulation. You also have an option to change the selection from the base application to release vehicle. Select the release vehicle from the list, configure the remaining simulation parameters based on your testing requirements. Then run the simulation to analyze how the release vehicle changes impact the results.

As a best practice, test your release vehicle in the BOE before you progress the release vehicle to the Generate Stage. By validating changes early, you can make adjustments without impacting downstream processes and automatically pick up changes from other releases that go live during testing.
