Creating and maintaining content for Pega GenAI Knowledge Buddy

Pega GenAI Knowledge Buddy™ enables rapid content creation and editing and allows authors to develop materials directly within the portal or upload documents in multiple file formats, such as text documents, PowerPoint presentations, and PDF files.

This topic presents the procedures you need to follow to create, edit, and re-ingest and withdraw content.

Creating content

Perform the following steps to create content in the Knowledge Buddy portal:

  1. In the navigation pane of the Knowledge Buddy portal, click Create > Content.

Optional: Alternatively, in the navigation pane of the Knowledge Buddy portal click Content, then in the upper-right corner click Create content.

  1. In the Collection list, select the collection you want to use.
  2. In the Content type (Data source) list, select the data source you want to use.
  3. In the Access configurations section, click Add Access config.
  4. In the Access role name list, select an access role.

Optional: Repeat steps 4 and 5 to add additional Access roles.

補足: When you create content you can assign specific roles to establish who can manage and view that specific content. In this way, you ensure that sensitive information remains protected and that only users with the appropriate role will be able to access the content you create.
  1. Click Advanced settings to configure content processing options such as Chunking method, Chunk size and Chunk overlap.
  2. Click Submit.
    the create content dialog box
  3. In the Author content window, in the Content format section, choose the content format you want to use:
    1. Text – you can use the rich text editor to create knowledge content.
    2. File – you can upload files such as .txt, .docx, .ppt, .pdf.
      content format
補足: While the Text content you create or the Files you upload can contain images, Knowledge Buddy does not answer questions about images.

  3. Enter your content:
    1. If your content format is Text: Click Add content, then add your content in the Define content field using the rich text editor.
the define content field with the text of the article
補足: Pega Knowledge Buddy automatically divides your content into chunks based on the chunk size you choose. If you want to control how the content is chunked, click Add content multiple times and add one content block for each chunk. Keep in mind that even if you create multiple text blocks, if the text in a single block exceeds the chunk size then Pega Knowledge Buddy divides it into multiple chunks automatically.
    2. If your format content is File: Click Drop or choose a file, then browse your computer for the file you want. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file in the Attachment field.

Editing content and configuration details

Pega Knowledge Buddy allows you to modify or update content, as well as configurations such as data source, chunking and access configurations.
